Business Partner for Compliance as a face for Financials with Compliance Sub Functions, Regional Finance Cost Management and Group COO teams, including all nine entities (UAE, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, DIFC & Turkey)
➢Analyze the financial condition report to account for the current financial status and assess the ability of the organization to handle further risk scenarios through effective engagement with the stakeholders
➢Scrutinize the mandatory reports to review on a monthly basis to track the actual cost to the organization and compare it with the projections
➢Partner with the Compliance Sub Function heads and Finance Global Function partners to discuss financials as well as headcount, actuals vs plan and a rolling as well as monthly forecast.
➢Partner with Finance to support the Global Business (Revenue centres) to provide value added analysis on Cost growth/reduction policies
➢Reviewing Middle East Management Intra Company recharges to the non-UAE entities and ensuring high level commentary is provided on any cost spikes
➢Facilitate effective cost management, monitoring and reporting working closely with the Cost Management team
➢Providing consulting as Cost SME across the MENA Region to non-UAE Country Business Managers to enable them to support the Country Compliance Heads

Business Partner for 12 Global Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, HR, Legal, Strategy, Corporate Sustainability, Audit, Company Secretary Communications and Other) including all nine entities (UAE, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, DIFC & Turkey)
➢Closely scrutinize the financial performance, targets and future outlook with the respective Functional Regional Head and work towards achieving the targets set by Group Head Office or else help secure extra funds by providing the appropriate justifications
➢Interact with Group as the main coordinator for the MENA Region to ensure consistent implementation of Group Strategies, changes in policies, procedures and financial submissions
➢Build relationships there by improving engagement and understanding of business and functions to support the growth of business
➢Preparation of MI Packs for all the Global Functions including the in-depth commentary
➢Facilitate effective cost management, monitoring and reporting working closely with the Cost Management team
➢Providing consulting as Cost SME across the MENA Region (Cost reporting, MI Actuals, OSPD, GHRS)

Providing financial analysis to support Bank wide Cost & FTE analysis covering all businesses and support functions
➢Support Cost Management programs sponsored by Regional Executive Committee by deep dive analysis of Costs by various line items and Functions, to help identify areas of efficiencies and cost reduction by presenting to the MENA Executive Committee key findings, actions identified and issue resolutions
➢Co-ordinating with stakeholders and key people responsible for various areas across the bank to follow up and ensure actions arising from the Cost programs are closed within the established time framework
➢Played a pivotal role in implementing cost programs such as Telephony, Travel & Entertainment
➢Cost centre governance, FTE Benchmarking, Deep dive into Sundry Admin expenses, standardise cost reporting across MENA (Buysmart & TMS coding) and supporting the Regional CEO Cost challenge for Q4 2015
➢Responsible for Implementing Group Cost programs across MENA entities
➢Providing consulting as Cost SME across the MENA Region (Cost reporting, MI Actuals, OSPD, GHRS)

Provided value added Cost Analysis of the Middle East region, including the drivers and identification of opportunities to reduce costs benefitting the business performance
➢Automated the production of Cost MI through an internally developed (TM1) reporting solution (MI Actuals), which MENA successfully piloted for HSBC Group
➢Responsible for successful delivery of Planning and Budgeting of Costs for the MENA Region for 4 years. Played a key role in providing an understanding of Group requirements to various Business and Support Function contacts including Senior Management
➢Contributed to the implementation of HSBC's new Cost Distribution policy in MENA
➢Managing an Offshore Team responsible for Monthly Cost reporting and finalisation of MI Actuals for Cost, OSPD Maintenance and Regional Cost Recharges
➢Finance Business Partner to Global Business Finance (Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Global Banking and Markets) and Global Functions (mainly Risk, HR, Finance & Marketing amongst other smaller functions) for all Cost related requirements, queries and issues. Holding regular cost forums to discuss cost related requirements and issues
➢Provided extensive training to Team members and Staff across different countries in the region on Cost Reporting, Analysis as well as usage of various systems to conduct value added analysis

Timely & accurate submission of financial information to the group and minimise revisions to data submissions to Bahrain & Offshore Banking Financial Control Divisions. Providing accurate information & reports to Local FCD and co-ordinate with them in understanding & submitting group requirements
➢Enabled better understanding of reporting requirements around the team and led the automation and simplification of submissions for Group reporting
➢Played a significant role in setting up Basel 2 RWA calculations for MENA entities

Preparation of yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts. Preparation of Weekly P&L as well as analysis of weekly Revenue & Cost reports. Preparing Capital Expenditure Requests to present to Senior Management and analysis or the same. Also submit monthly Capex Reports to the Head Office

Funds Management - Preparing Daily Bank O/D & L/C Facility Position Report, Planning Funds Requirements for Payments to Suppliers, L/C Payments etc. Liaising with Banks for Establishing L/C's, Amendments, Inward Fund Transfers, Documents received from Suppliers
