1. Motorola Solutions, Bangalore (May '06 till date) as Technical Architect

Worked with various teams under CDMA and iDEN divisions of Motorola. Currently working in iDEN's Advanced Networking Group (iANG) . Role and responsibilities included:
• Ownership of iANG team to drive overall Routing, Switching and security requirements of iDEN network infrastructure.
• Drive architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization of iDEN network infrastructure and align architectural strategy with business objectives.
• Facilitate technical design and architecture discussion with Business team and clients and understand customer's requirements.
• Work closely with other box Architects in designing and building solutions that are reusable, quick to market, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Planning, designing, prototyping and testing of network solutions as per customer's requirements.
• Planning and design includes Layer-1 to Layer-4 specifications of various subsystems and IP address planning for entire iDEN network infrastructure.
• Recommend additional IP design and security enhancements through Business change control board (BCCB) or System Engineering Change Control Board (SECCB)
• Create High Level Solutions Approach (HLSA) and IP requirements for new iDEN features
• Write reference architectures and strategic roadmaps for network and network security technologies, and solution architectures for various iDEN infrastructure initiatives.
• Recommend alternative solutions for Cisco EOL/EOS hardware and IOS.
• Prototype design solutions in a controlled LAB environment
• Finalizing configurations of interface routers for all network elements in the iDEN network to communicate with each other seamlessly using protocols/technologies like OSPF, RIPv2, HSRP, static routing with IP SLA, Etherchannels, BOOTP, QoS, VLANs, ACLs, etc.
• Drive sub system test efforts to ensure design and configurations are delivered with optimum quality.
• Work closely with System Test Architects in creating system test strategy and test cases by providing inputs for IP Network and security related testing.
• Work closely with deployment team remotely during implementation of new design solutions and configurations in the field.
• Performing proactive Security scans on all IP devices in the iDEN network using security scanning tools like Foundstone, SecureScout and Nessus.
• Access security vulnerabilities detected by security scan tools and recommend mitigation plans and solutions.
• Provide training to deployment team to enable them in troubleshooting field issues related to Cisco routers and switches.
• Visit customer sites for Migration/upgrade of Cisco equipments. Visited PTC Bravo Saudi Arabia for seamless migration of Cisco Catalyst 6509 switch with CatOS to Cisco 7604 routers with RSP-720. Activity included configuration conversion and creation of Migration procedure.
• Provide Level-3 support for issues that can't be resolved by Motorola Solutions deployment team and Customer's IP team.
• Assist different box development teams in packet analysis of packets captured during field issues.

Worked in System Integration & Testing Team for iDEN products. Role and responsibilities includes: • Assisted System Test team in shifting lab from USA and setting it up in Bangalore. Performed hardware planning and created generic IP plan for the lab that is almost dynamic and scalable.
• Responsible for implementing IP related changes in the lab that replicates a customer network during reproduction and troubleshooting of any field issues.

Worked in Access Node and Data Products Group of CDMA division. Role and responsibilities included:
• Working closely with System Engineering team during new features by prototyping new solutions in LAB.
• Provide inputs to System Engineering team during creation of IP requirements for CDMA network.
• Creating test strategy for sub-system testing of Aggregation Node (AGNODE) which serves as a a common aggregation point for various other units of a CDMA network. Major components of AGNODE include Catalyst 6500 series switches, Cisco MGX 8800 series, Cisco 1900 series MWR (mobile wireless routers), etc
• Drive sub-system test efforts by creating test cases for AGNODE and testing in controlled LAB environment
• Responsible for creating and updating upgrade/downgrade migration and installation guides for different components in AGNODE.
• Provide 24/7 level-3 support to global customers like Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, Nextel, KDDI Japan, China Unicom.
• Visit customer sites to assist deployment teams in migrating/upgrading Cisco devices. Visited KDDI Japan to migrate Catalyst 6509 with SUP-2 to SUP-720.
• Worked with third party vendor (Cisco) to resolve issues related to software and hardware.
• Assess security vulnerabilities identified by security scan tools and provide mitigation plan and solution.
