1- Visits the Wards/Units regularly, establishes professional relationships with the medical and nursing staff, and ensures that the treating physicians and nurses are fully aware of the social circumstances of the patient.
2- Interviews patients, family members and friends to develop background knowledge concerning the patients’ social life in order to assess their social needs.
3- Prepares and implements an appropriate management plan to alleviate adverse effects upon patients; ensuring maximum utilization of all available resources to achieve this goal.
4- Educates the patient and family in the understanding of and adherence to the medical and social management plans.
5- Trains and shares knowledge with other staff.
6- Refer patients to social welfare agencies after reviewing their cases.
7- Assists in solving patients’ problems, which hinder their treatment, such as providing financial, social and physiological support.
8- Processes referrals by means of applicable forms, and issue necessary medical supplies within available resources and limitations.
9- Prepares and issues disability cards for individuals with special needs.
10- Follows up with the concerned departments to provide individuals with special needs of the available facilities such as; parking space, priority in appointments, especially if the disabled person is not familiar with the health institution.
11- Follows up with parties concerned to provide disabled personnel with medical devices, which are not available at the hospital. If applicable.
12- Prepares necessary reports and statistics supported by feedback/ remarks, as necessary, and submit such reports to the Social Work Supervisor for necessary actions.
13- Respects patients and their families to promote for a Patient-Centered Care culture.
14- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a multidisciplinary team

Making rounds in inpatients to identify the needs and problems of patients.
2- Doing Social Assessment for all inpatients
3- Doing Daily Follow-up for the critical cases
4- Document the care plan for all the patients in the Multidisciplinary care plan in HIS system.
5- Receive DAMA, Refusal of admission And operation cancellation Reports in The OVR system
6- Receive all Referrals from The physicians to help their patients and to provide all the support they need
7- Receive the abuses cases And send All the reports to the Protection and Family Security Unit
8- Provide counseling services of treatment modalities to assess patients and their families toward, illness and hospitalization.
9- Provide a link to outside rehabilitation center, charity societies and government institutions for the patients.
10- Provide Counseling for families and patients that would leave the hospital against Medical advice (DAMA).
11- Arrange patient and family meeting with health-care providers in critical cases.
12- Receives all complaints regarding clinical practice
13- Provides support and follow-up action as necessary to ensure the proper regulations of the complaints.
14- Process the complaints and forward result to the PI Office for evaluation and statistical reporting.
15- Evaluation of hospital services through the questionnaire for inpatients and outpatients
16- Prepare all the monthly reports.
17- Conduct and analyses patient satisfaction survey quarterly with percentage and sample size
