• Teaching Grade 8 English and Reading elective.
• Responsible for teaching and managing a total of 79 students (19-20 students per class).
• Create teaching material for various areas including grammar, comprehension, writing, and literature.
• Plan activities that stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills.
• Communicate with parents on a regular basis via progress reports, quarterly meetings, e-mails and phone conversations.
• Maintained weekly Academic Progress Reports for students with lower grades.
• Develop and implement daily and unit lesson plans for 8th grade following the Common Core Standards.
•Administer tests and evaluations, and analyze student performance.
•Create lesson plans adjusted to target students' areas of weakness.
• Pull students out during electives (P.E, Art and I.T) for Enhanced classes daily.
• Participate in faculty and parent conferences.
• Conduct group and one-on-one reading, writing and comprehension activities.

• Taught vocabulary every week; students are given a sheet with words and are required to write the definitions of the words. Every Thursday, I set up a Powerpoint with a vocabulary review game where students are divided into teams and compete to score the most points.
• Taught students public speaking skills through Powerpoint presentations and handouts. Students were asked to give practice speeches and were then evaluated when they had to give a final speech at the end of the semester.
