Assistant project manager at Sleep Comfort S.A.L
  • Lebanon - Beirut
  • October 2009 to July 2011

As a fresh graduate I had the opportunity to work for Sleep Comfort S.A.L as an assistant project manager. Sleep Comfort is an established Lebanese furniture and home décor company since 1948. Its customer base covers the entire Arab world with branches in different countries.
My duties as an assistant project manager are focused on managing commercial accounts and projects. During the past 2 years I had managed about 20 projects for 15 different accounts. I deal with the customer’s project managers and the counter party at the suppliers’ side. My tasks are mainly directed toward coordinating between both parties by developing a portfolio for every project that reflects the customer’s demands and expectations. The portfolio has to be sent to the suppliers who have to understand those demands and expectations in a technical language that they can translate into a finished product. The portfolio has to include measurable criteria and traceable work flow.
This experience at the Sleep comfort allowed me to develop my managerial skills and to discover my ability to interact with different customer profiles in order to develop a healthy relationship with all parties. My dealings are with major VIP customers that Sleep Comfort cares about their wellbeing and satisfaction. On the other side, I have to deal with professional suppliers and to negotiate best terms in order to maximize the project’s returns without compromising on quality and service.
Based on above I see myself an efficient and reliable manager as I can understand the expected level of professionalism and dedication that such responsibility requires. Surely, I will have to learn more about the detailed tasks and duties. Surely I will have to deal with a different type of pressure and challenges. Still, I can see myself handling these challenges as I’m a determined cool tempered person, who believes in perseverance, appreciates learning, and aims toward positive achievement.

Rayan Khalifé
