• Supervise and manage Makani site managers within the designated centers, ensuring consistently strong performance indicators and close linkages to other service providers and sectors to ensure consistent integration of programmes
• Contribute to and support the Syrian center managers in the preparation of key planning activities at the centers including programme schedules, outreach plans, donor visits and launches as required
• Undertake daily quality assurance activities in designated centers to monitor and assess programme implementation and undertake corrective action when needed
• Support the capacity building of frontline staff at Makani centers through conducting trainings, facilitating workshops, and providing daily guidance on programme implementation, and provide support to improve their performance through applying evaluation system and preparing development plans
• Participate and contribute to major program research and evaluation exercise, including collaborating with a team of researchers from Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE) to conduct focus-group discussions and individual interviews to obtain key information on improving how Makanis run
• Consolidate and compile monthly reports from all site managers into coherent programmatic reports that track program progress that is circulated to program management
• Contribute to improving Makani in camps monitoring tools in coordination with PME and other relevant sections
• Collaborate with different NGOs and service providers in Azraq camp to identify community needs and the best approaches to fulfill them
Supported UNICEFs post-distribution monitoring in Azraq and Za’atri refugee camps, including interviewing men, women, parents, and different family members.
•Amended key monitoring tools according to strategic and programmatic shifts, and created online surveys through Kobo toolbox that were used in field monitoring missions.
•Led FGDs with men and women in Azraq and Za’atri refugee camps. These results were utilized to inform UNICEFs community based approach strategy that aims to empower refugees residing in the camps, and make them directly involved in the implementation of UNICEF’s programs.
•Monitored the situation of Syrian refugees in host communities by supporting UNICEF's longitudinal survey. This included monitoring the pilot, the training as well as the FGD and quantitative data collection.
•Supported social policy team in conducting a market assessment in Azraq camp using Kobo toolbox, and analyzed price fluctuation in camps and refugee coping strategies.
•Monitored the progress and performance of activities implemented by UNICEF partners (non-government and government organizations) in camps, host community, and Informal Tented settlements (ITS) including the implementation of the programmatic components, and the execution of vaccination campaigns in ITS
•Identified humanitarian needs among the most vulnerable Syrian refugees and supported referral mechanisms with regards to Education, Child Protection, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Health, and identified and reported key emerging issues from field monitoring
•Supported the Education section during the Learning for All (L4A) campaign through conducting door to door visits with UNICEF partners’ field staff to deliver the messages of the campaign, and ensure that all the needed data is being collected to report on the children that are out of school, and help them get back to formal education.
•Conducted a number of trainings to Double-Shifted Schools’ facilitators on UNICEF’s real time monitoring system ‘Bayanati’.
•Provided support to the Humanitarian section in identifying a number of unserved ITS to extend UNICEF and partner support to ITS communities, and in the rolling out of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) components to new partners
•Supported in the verification of data collected by partners and informing UNICEF IM officer accordingly
