I have gained diversified professional experience and tackled multiple assignments simultaneously. I have been entrusted with the role of leading various teams and coordinating with team members & higher level management of clients. Furthermore, I have also been involved in conducting the planning, execution and completion of statutory audit & review engagements, validation of financial reporting packages of various groups concerns and other varied special nature engagements.
My key responsibilities entail:
External Audit:
• Planning, Supervision and Review of external audits and reporting directly to Manager / Director.
• Development of general strategy, detailed risk based audit plan and audit programs and conducting business and audit risk assessment through client meetings and via research & analysis;
• Checking and reviewing compliance with applicable IAS/IFRS, International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and regulatory requirements by the organizations being audited and providing them professional advice over their compliance status;
• Assisting clients in preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), corporate laws and other directives of regulatory authorities;
• Providing ongoing advisory services to clients on accounting treatment as per IFRS; and evaluating internal controls, identifying control deficiencies & suggesting appropriate recommendations to management;
• Application of BDO Audit Methodology (BAM) on each audit client and proficient in using Audit Process Tools (APT) for documenting audit working papers;
• Communicating audit progress and findings by providing information in status meetings, highlighting unresolved issues and preparing management letter for control deficiencies and accounting issues;
• Preparation of analytical review in order to assess company’s financial and operational performance;
• Coordinating with professionals in various fields like legal, actuarial, taxation and information technology; and
• Liaising with, and developing good working relationships with clients to deliver engagement expectations;
Internal Audit:
• Preparing Internal Audit Plan for the Group of companies and present it for approval, audit programs, execution and leading the field work during the assigned tasks and report writing.
• Developing the Internal Audit Charter, Manual and process flow in addition to the Audit Methodology to be implemented.
• Evaluating risk management, control, and governance systems and ensure that they are functioning as intended.
• Reporting accounting issues, risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies to the audit committee.
• Providing recommendations for improving the organization's financials, operations and governance controls, in terms of both efficient and effective performance.
Accounting and Financial advisory:
• Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions;
• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports;
• Assuring compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws;
• Determining proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits;
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements under IFRS and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
