My role at BHP is within the Hosting Projects Team, responsible for major Infrastructure architecture, design, implementation, and deployment for BHP worldwide.
Some projects and related technologies:
•VxBlock commissioning for Perth and Brisbane DCs. (UCS manager, Cisco Blades / Chassis, Cisco Nexus, MDS, FC zoning, DELLEMC Unity, Avamar, Data Domain).
•Multiple Unstructured Data Platform using Dell EMC Isilon deployments scaling to multiple Petabytes.
•Isilon Orchestrated Failover/failback solution using Superna Eyeglass DR; architecture, design, implementation, reference model.
•High Performance and graphical intensive workload Storage design using Dell EMC. Unity storage and DELL EMC compute with Tesla Graphic cards, and DellEMC Unity Cache storage.
•Multiple complex workload migrations on VMWare virtualisation platform; including on premises and to cloud.

Enterprise Wide DR blueprint, planning, and testing - Critical Infrastructure.
•Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) - POC for Nutanix(4nodes), and Cisco Hyperflex.
•VXRAIL 4.5 8 nodes deployment in stretched cluster. Planning, designing, implementing.
•Introducing vSphere storage policies on existing infrastructure.
•Amazon Web Service (AWS) - VPC, VPN, EC2, S3. Ground up build.
•MDM - Airwatch with Telstra. Includes setting up the Apple DEP and Telstra DES offerings; integration with AD using ACC.
•Active systems support in Networks Firewall migration
•Active systems support in implementing Cisco Call Manager.
•Deploy and configure Cisco IMC supervisor to monitor health of UCS cluster
•Office 365 migration.
•New vCenters re-design and deployment - version 6.5 with external PSCs in linked mode supporting more than 60 hosts.
•VMWare SRM 8.1 design and implementation using vSphere Replication and Storage Replication Adapter.
•Cisco IronPort email security appliance upgrade and eco-system.
•Implementing DMARC across 300+ domains.
•Designing, deploying, and migrating to Exchange 2016- On premise.
•Deploy Microsoft Hyper-V cluster to support Application delivery through Microsoft RDS.

Virtualization - With VMWare
•Expansion of Virtual infrastructure from less than 10 to 50+ ESXi Hosts.
•VMware Update Manager Implementation for Patching and upgrade.
•Site Recovery Manager 5.1/5.5- Ground up implementation, vSphere replication.
•vRealize Operations Manager implementation and configuration.
•Upgrade of virtualised infrastructure on several occasions.
•Blueprint for upgrade to v6.
•Planning for VDS migration - Implementation completed.
•VMWare Orchestrator 5.5, install, configure, and create workflows for user access and automation.
•Integration of IntelliSnap for CommVault Smpana Backup solution.
•POC for VMWare NSX.
•New build of environment on vSphere 6.5.

Projects completed: Backup - With CommVault Simpana
•Upgrade backup suite from Commvault Simpana 9 to 10 to 11.
•Implementation of IntelliSnap with VMware, using IBM V7000 SVC.
•Exchange Archive with Simpana OnePass.
•Scale up from protecting 60TB in 2 years.
•Major backup infrastructure redesign; new servers, storage, self-serve, new architecture for HA.

Cloud Technologies
•Designing and implementing AWS VPC and VPN back to Enterprise MPLS network.
•Implementation of online AWS S3 and Glacier storage for backups.
•Migrating core workload to AWS platform to form hybrid cloud; DC, DNS, DHCP, WSUS.
•Run a full POC for VMC on AWS as part of our DR strategy.
•Deploy and manage Azure VMs. Setting up Networks and security system.

SAN Storage:
•Provisioning of new LUNS, Mdisks, Flash copies (hardware array copies).
•Fibre channel Zoning on Brocade and EMC Switches.
•Upgrade of Brocade B4/B5 FC switches.
•Upgrading firmware for IBM Flash 840, V7000, V5000.
•Addition of storage enclosure to V7000 G1 and G2.
•Ground up setting up of IBM Storewize V5000.
