Richard is a Senior Building Designer of the New Delhi studio. He is an Architect with 9 years of professional experience in India. He has a B.Arch. degree with first class distinction from School of Planning & Architecture, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture & Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. He is a National Awardee (Winner) of Birla White Yuva Ratna Awards, 2010. His career and professional work spans across architecture, interior design, urban design, art works and design research.
Richard’s major experience (extensively in BIM) has been around designing of educational campuses, laboratory buildings, R&D projects and residential developments. Apart from these, his experience also includes commercial developments, IT parks, private residences, farmhouses and interiors. He has also worked on green building projects and sustainable planning projects. He is a Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture, India.
Some of the key projects designed and/ or managed by Richard are South Asian University Campus Delhi, Science City Guwahati, Centre for Human Genetics Laboratory Extension Bangalore, Head Office for Asmara Apparels Pvt/ Lt. Gurgaon, RMZ Latitute High End Luxury Apartment Bangalore. He is responsible for design development and day-to-day coordination of the studio’s projects. He intricately takes care of design details and spatial quality for the users’ well-being.

Odia University, Puri, India
This is an undertaking by OB&CC (Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Limited) for the proposal of university in Puri, promoting Odia language across the country, and globally.The scope of the work included masterplanning, architecture and interior design. The site is of 9.42 acres, with a built area of approx. 180, 000 sq.ft. The objective was to develop a sustainable campus that not only respects the contextual heritage and history, but also creates a landmark for the state of Odisha.
Role: Senior Project Architect responsible for leading a team in design development and coordination.
Upper Crest Valsad, Gujarat, India
This is a mixed-use development project of 9, 00, 000 sq.ft. on a 13 acre site in Valsad. The project consists of villas, apartment towers and retail/ commercial. The project emphasises on enhancing green spaces with established connectivity to provide a unique residential environment.
Role: Senior Project Architect responsible for leading a team in design development and coordination.
Work in Revit(BIM), Conceptual design, Working drawings, Construction details, Sketching and illustrations, Site Supervision, interaction with Clients, Consultants, Project management teams, Contractors, manages design documents preparation, supervises drawing production in office etc.
Good experience in large scale institutional projects, residential projects etc.
Currently working on the ongoing South Asian University project in New Delhi.
DESCRIPTION:
1. SOUTH ASIAN UNIVERSITY, New Delhi, India (GRIHA LD 5 Star Rating) - Ongoing:
This was an International Urban Design Competition open to all SAARC nations that our firm won in March, 2011. This is one of the most prestigious and large scale Educational Campus projects set up as a commitment to the United Nations by Government of India.
This 100 acre project has the program of Faculty Buildings, Hostels, Faculty Housing, Library, SAARC Haat, Administration, Convention Centre & other Service Buildings in which MASTERPLAN & ARCHITECTURE are in our scope.
ROLE :
Involves in interaction with Clients, Consultants & Construction Teams, Preparation of all Construction Drawings & Documents, Site lnspection, Design Solutions, Leads & guides other architects in design & production of working draw ings & documents for all building typology etc.
Faculty of Life Science & Earth Science : (Revit 2014-2016)
Completely handled from conceptuals to GFC and to execution stage( Design, Construction Drawings & Coordination) and is done completely on Revit. Total Built up area - 40, 000 Sqm (B1+B2+G+5). It has a facilty of 40 Laboratories, Cen tral Instrumentation Facility, Lab Prep. kitchen, Cold Rooms, Animal House, Lecture Theatre of 200 seats, Smart class rooms, Seminar Rooms, library etc.
Library Building : (Revit 2014-2016)Conceptuals to GFC and to execution stage(Design, Construction Drawings & Coordination)and is done completely on Revit.
2. SCIENCE CITY, Guwahati, Competition (2015) :
National Architecture Design Competition under National Council of Science Museums, Government of India. The site area is 30 acres and total covered area to be built including future expansion was 28, 000 Sqm plus outdoor science parks, bio-domes etc.Got the second place in the final round of the competition.
ROLE:(Revit 2014-2015)
Design Team Leader, involved in Design Conceptualization with Hand Sketches & BIM (Building Information Modelling) environment & physical models, Design Details, Design Illustrations, Presentation Drawings etc.
3. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, Dharwad, Competition (2018):
A National Architecture Design Competition proposed under non-profit, Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The site area for this permanent campus is 60 acres. ROLE :Involved in the design conceptualization of the master plan of the campus, Handled the main Academic Block - design sketches, Built-form Analysis, 3D modelling in Sketchup, Presentation drawings, Design Illustrations etc.
4. HEAD OFFICE FOR ASMARA APPARELS, Gurgaon, Haryana (2014) :
Total Built up area 2700 Sqm.
Scope - Architecture & Interiors. ROLE :Involved in the design conceptualization (architecture & Interiors) through design discussions and hand sketches, Presentation drawings for Interior design options in hand sketch illustrations.
5. CENTRE FOR HUMAN GENETICS(CHG) LABORATORY EXTENSION, Bangalore (2016):
ROLE :(Revit 2016) Handled complete design conceptualization for the vertical extension of the Laboratory facility, Presentation drawings and graphics.
6. MANGAR FARMHOUSE, Faridabad (2015) :
This is a farmhouse with builtup area of 300 Sqm, situated in the Mangar Village, valley to the Aravalli Ranges in Faridabad. ROLE :(Revit 2015) Single handedly managed the project from design conceptualization to construction drawings and to execution. Also involved in coordination of the building services. Scope :Architecture and Interiors.
2014 : Consulting Architect : Worked on Renovation Projects - KERALA HOUSE(New Delhi) & TRAVANCORE PALACE(New Delhi); Role: Involved in the design team, design illustrations, Site Visit & Documentation
2013 : Consulting Architect : Involved in Urban Design Project under Punjab Tourism - FACADE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL, Hall Gate to Golden Temple Gate (Amritsar) . Role : Involved in the design team, design illustrations, Preparation of DPR(Detailed Project Report), Site Visit & Documentation.
2007-2010 : Student Architect : Involved in CHARMINAR PEDESTRIANIZATION PROJECT - Conservation Plan for Madina-Gulzar Houz Stretch(Hyderabad). Role: Responsibility in Site Documentation, Conceptual Sketching, Graphic & Design Illustrations etc.
Also involved in Tourist Resort Project in Kadapa(Andhra Pradesh) as deisgn illustrator.
