Project Planning & Management Responsibilities

 Understanding project work scope, construction contracts, budget, cost centres, expense heads, work breakdown structures (WBS) and organization breakdown structures (OBS).
 Prepare project baseline schedule (Level - 4) and detailed plan (Level - 5) in Primavera P6.
 Peparation of S-curves, manpower histogram and monitor productivity, catch-up plans, critical path analysis and resource planning and leveling including labour and non labour as per project scope of work.
 Updating the plan in P6, and generate rolling 3 months and 4 weeks look ahead plans based on workfront availibilty status.
 Prepare weekly and monthly progress report through Primavera, and analyze overall discipline wise progress and efficiency reports.
 Preparation of budget, cost loading and monitoring the cash flow and project progress using SPI, CPI and Earned Value Anaylsis.
 Attending progress review meetings with client and sub-contractor and prepare minutes of weekly progress meetings.
 Tracking and maintain scope changes and its effect on the overall project schedule.
 Preparation of detail documents for extension of time (EOT) for the projects.
 Keeps updated details of Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
 Cost control by optimization of resource utilization.

ONGOING PROJECTS
Project: Long Term Turnaround Works 2016-2017
Client: M/s Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries (ORPIC)
Project Value: US$ 47 millions
Designation: Planning & Scheduling Engineer
Duration: September 2015 - till date

Turnaround consist of main mechanical static equipments (271 nos.) including columns, absorbers, vessels, exchangers, reactors, tanks, furnaces, compressors and turbines. Pre-fabrication of piping and over-hauling of mechanical and control valves are also included.

Project: BARZAN Onshore Gas Project
Client: M/s RAS GAS, Qatar
Project Value: US$ 151 millions
Designation: Planning & Control Engineer
Duration: July 2012 - February 2015

(Barzan Gas Project is a $10.4bn project being developed by a joint venture (JV) of Ras Gas and ExxonMobil. The project includes both onshore and offshore developments and will produce 1.7 bcfd of pure natural gas. Onshore facilities at the project site will comprise of a gas processing unit, a sulphur recovery unit to remove impurities from the natural gas and a natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery unit, which will produce methane, ethane, propane, butane and condensate.)

Scope of work for Descon involves Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation (Slug catcher, cooling tower, pipe rack & around equipment piping, storage tanks, flare, sub-stations etc.). Major quantities include, Earthworks 570, 000 m3, Concrete 77, 000 m3, Piping 650, 000 Inch Dia., Equipment 6640 Ton & Steel Structure erection 6000 Ton, total Man-hours for Descon for this project is 10 millions & project value is US$ 151 millions.

Project: IGD HABSHAN 5 Process Plant
Client: M/s GASCO, UAE
Project Value: US$ 200 millions
Designation: Planning & Control Engineer
Duration: October 2011 - July 2012

(Habshan 5 Process Plant is a US $4.7bn project, a joint venture (JV) of Japan Gas Corporation (JGC) and Technimont, the project includes a gas processing facility, a natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery unit, four sulphur recovery units and utilities and offsite facilities and designed to produce 750 MMSCFD sale gas, 12000 TPD NGL and 5200 TPD Sulphur.)

Scope of work for Descon involves Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation (Pipe rack & around equipment piping, storage tanks, flare, compressors, steam turbines, sub-stations etc.). Major quantities include, Earthworks 130, 000 m3, Concrete 75, 500 m3, Piping 450, 000 Inch Dia., Equipment 4200 Ton & Steel Structure erection 9800 Ton, total Man-hours for Descon for this project was 8.5 millions & project value was US$ 200 millions.

Project Planning & Management Responsibilities
 During iniation phase, preparation of Kick-Off Meeting for the project sponsors and client.
 Responsible for the overall planning, development and monitoring of projects and maintain the project planning systems and procedures.
 Preparation of project baseline schedule (Level - 4) and detailed plan (Level - 5) in Primavera P6.
 Preparation of WBS for construction activities.
 Preparation of detail resource requirement based on standard productivity norms.
 Daily monitoring and reporting of weekly/monthly progress report with variances as per baseline schedule, progress s-curve and manpower histogram.
 During monitoring phase controlling the schedule by developing latest forecasts of baseline plans.
 Revision of schedules by creating recovery and mitigation plans to arrest progress slippage in case of certain change in scope of work with particular addition or deletion of quantities through Change Orders
 Participation in weekly and monthly meetings with client and subcontractors.
 Close coordination with the execution team to identify and raise technical queries to remove any bottlenecks that may hampers the overall progress.
 Close coordination with procurement department during bid evaluation for the finalization of technical and commercial bids as per contract requirement of the projects
 Technical bid evaluation of final bids of different sub-contractors.
 Tracking and follow-up of material for a smooth progress flow by monitoring procurement progress.
 Preparation of budget for the project by taking into account the direct and indirect cost incurred on the project.
 Tracking and maintain scope changes of Mechanical items for Piping; Structural Steel; Piping & Mechanical Equipments and its effect on the overall project schedule.
 Preparation of final close-out report at project completion with complete analysis and lessons learnt

COMPLETED PROJECTS
Project: Detail Engineering & Construction for Sinjhoro Development Project
Client: M/s OGDCL, Pakistan
Duration: August 2010 - October 2011
(Sinjhoro Development Project involves the relocation of Ex-Dhodak Plant (i.e. dehydration and LPG Plant) with added new units i.e. Gas gathering facility, Amine sweetening Unit for CO2 removal, 03 feed and 03 sales gas compression units, LPG & condensate storage and loading facilities, utilities and power generation. Projected yield upon completion is 3000 bbls per day of oil, 25 MMSCFD of gas and 120 M.ton per day of LPG.)

Project: Detail Engineering for MCR Asphalt Blowing Unit (ABU) Project
Client: M/s PARCO, Pakistan
Duration: May 2009 - June 2010
(PARCO Asphalt Blowing Unit (ABU) was designed to produce 500 MTPD road & 250 MTPD industrial grade bitumen along with asphalt storage facility, truck and drum filling units at Mid Country Refinery.)

Project: Hydraulic Analysis of Transfer Line and Karachi - Mehmood Kot Pipeline
Client: M/s PARCO, Pakistan
Duration: July 2009 - May 2010
(The 870 km Karachi-Mehmood Kot (KMK) Pipeline transport crude from Karachi to Mehmood Kot for its Mid Country Refinery and capable of pumping upto 6 millions tons per year.)

Project: Detail Engineering of ENAR Petroleum Refinining Facility EPRF II
Client: M/s ENAR, Pakistan
Duration: April 2009 - January 2010
(ENAR Petroleum Refining Facility (EPRF II), a crude oil refinery having 8000 bbl/day capacity and consisting of three Modes. Modes I & II consist of petrochemical products and Mode III consist of refinery operations.)
