* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled.
* Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
* Support almost 100+ locations on-site/remotely in the FMCG industry as and when issues occur in their POS or network systems.
* Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
* Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
* Provide Tier III/other support as per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
* Manage and overhaul the existing restaurant POS system to a more modern and updated release.
* Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
* Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
* Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
* Create, change, and delete user accounts as per request.
* Be available on-call to the Network Team 24/7.
* Provided Technical/Desktop Support to customers of a leading U.S. ISP, keeping in mind the client requirements and adhering to strict quality control measures.
* Attending meetings with clients to see their requirements and clarifying any concerns they might have regarding the project.
* Discussing major technical issues and setbacks on site with integration engineer and its corresponding troubleshooting.
* Creation, modification and maintenance of Outlook users using MS Exchange Server 2007.
* Installation and maintenance of local client systems with regular configuration updation.
* Creation and maintenance of private networks and VPN's using Windows Server 2008.
* Adhering to strict SLA's to ensure service quality is not compromised.
