Job Responsibilities as Civil QA/QC Engineer:
Quality Assurance and Control:
• Developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Verify the materials compliance and conformity with the specifications of the relevant international standards, Review and coordinate the technical work of the departments and project team.
• Supervise construction civil works and ensure that contractors comply with works specifications.
Inspection and Testing:
• Inspects Civil activities like Excavation, Backfilling, FDT, Lean concrete, Formwork, Reinforcement & Concrete Pouring, Curing, Underground utilities, and installation of precast structures, so as to fulfill the Quality & Standards criteria of the project.
• Conduct final inspection with owners representative prior to precede concrete pouring and other succeeding work activities that requires step by step inspection as per inspection and testing procedures.
• Conducting regular inspections and coordinating with third-party testing agencies to perform tests on construction materials i.e.
• Aggregate tests, Soil tests, Cement tests also (if required) etc.
• Various Concrete tests like, workability (Slump) test, Temperature test (Fresh Concrete) Strength test (Hardened Concrete) & Test for steel, bricks/blocks etc.
Documentation:
• Maintaining detailed records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions taken.
• Prepare and maintain relevant QA/QC Logs and reports i.e.
• Daily, Weekly & Monthly progress reports.
• Work Inspection Reports (WIR) for various activities.
• Material Approval Request (MAR).
Review of Materials:
• Ensuring that materials used on-site meet project requirements and specifications through verification of test reports, and supplier quality documentation.
• Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the Client contract specializations.
• Ensure all work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection being undertaken, Review all inspection reports for compliance.
Compliance Monitoring:
• Ensuring that construction activities align with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
• Maintaining Basic safety standards on construction sites to make sure all the work is done safely and eficiently.
Problem Solving:
• Identifying quality issues, analyzing root causes, and collaborating with the project team to implement corrective actions.
• Data analysis to eliminate the root causes and to assure continual improvement.
Reporting:
• Report to the QA/QC manager, control and monitor all activities related to quality, preparing quality reports and presenting findings to the project management team for review and decision-making.
Training and Guidance:
• Providing training and guidance to the construction team on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Assist the project engineers on various maters and accomplish tasks given by them.
Coordination & Team Work:
• Working with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth implementation of quality procedures on-site.
• Coordinate all site inspections with the site subcontractors & also Assist them in the resolution of any drawing interpretation.
• Coordinate with the consultant representative and site in-charge for inspection.
• Atend all regular meetings with consultant and client to assure the accuracy of quality processes.
• Following up with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of material, coordinate deliveries and manage inventory.
