Currently, I am co-sourced to work on follow-up audit on a telecoms company and several of my duties and responsibilities include:

-Reconciliation of previous cycle report and system generated report to review its alignment and make changes when needed

-Review various audit recommendations background to understand its history and requirements to address the issue

-Assist in selection of recommendations to be followed-up in the period

-Maintaining recommendation status tracker and documentation of received evidences and responses

-Attended meetings on updates of various Business Units and documented management response to recommendations followed-up

-Regular meeting discussion on updates and created audit notes

-Update of system data as required

-Preparation of data in required formats and assist in summarizing key issues as needed

-Assist in policies and quality assurance review

In my time as Risk Advisory Services Intern, I was part of a team that performed a Bank IT Asset Management assignment and several of my tasks included:

-Vouch various documents for three-way matching and make initial comments on required format

-Discussion with team members on progress and related findings as well as reconciling for variances between collected data and client data

-Track, segregate and compile the progress of samples received and evaluated relevance of data validity on whether in scope or not

-Assisted in filtering data to be used on findings presentation

-Undertook and attended trainings relating to various audits

Duties involve:

-Recording transactions in SAGE accounting software
-Liaison with treasury and audit department to check accuracy of transactions
-Presentation of the financial report to the pulpit every quarter
-Regular discussion with colleagues to improve workflow

As an audit intern, I had the opportunity to work with various people in different engagements, including a team auditing a large listed company. Some of my duties include:

-Accompany seniors into the client office

-Foot & Trace (Cast & Reference) Financial Statements

-Vouch documents for controls testing

-Assist in selection of samples

-Track the progress of bank confirmations received and prepare a summary of pending documents

-Preparation of various documents based on templates such as Letter of Representation

-Update some Lead Schedules, Links and files in the audit documentation

-Printed documents to be sent out e.g bank confirmations, final financial statements

-Undertook various trainings relating to audit

-Assist in archiving of audit paper files

-Rollforward templates in evidence gathering activities

Being a student trainee entailed building rapport with a multicultural environment and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders. I was able to develop my communication skills and improved my proficiency on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Working towards tight deadlines allowed me to improve my time management skills as well as gear my mindset towards analytical and forward thinking.
