A) Head of Cards & Payments Division (Business & Operation, Issuing & Acquiring & P & L)
Responsible for the overall Cards & Payments Division: Credit, Debit & Prepaid cards, POS, Payment Gateway & Mobile Payments (including NFC), covering the Business part as well as the whole Operation part including: Research, Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Usage, Retention, Attrition, Loyalty, P&L, Fraud, Authorization, Chargeback, Settlement, Reconciliation, delinquency, Merchant business & Back office, Cards issuance (including full PM for re-carding with chip & PIN) & customers service.
B) Head of Consumer Banking Bundles & Portfolio Management (Assets & Liabilities)
Develop packages/bundles to suit specific segments/Profiles.
Manage bundle Pricing & P & L.
Manage monthly Portfolio performance & accordingly launch actions to better perform.
Manage cross-sell, up-sell, reload & tenure management programs.
C) Member of Consumer Banking strategy Committee
Contribute with the Consumer Bank leadership group on the overall Consumer Banking Strategy
D) Team member in the “We Promise” Initiative (Cards, Loans, waiting Queue & Salaries)
We Promised to deliver the card the same day, We Promised to disburse the loan the same day, We Promised not to keep the customers waiting for more than 10 minutes & We Promised to credit salaries on time before 7 am
E) Head of Pioneer Mobile & Electronic Banking committee/initiative
Create, Manage & Head a Task force with IT & Cards & Payment Division to develop an advanced Mobile application.
Lead & Manage under NFC payment project (near field communication), through Mobile Tag & Mobile SIM.
Manage peer to peer Transfer Project with MNOs & Payments’ Companies.
F) Head of Consumer Banking loyalty
Launched a Bank wide loyalty program offering automated redemption through: Cash Back, 300 Airlines, 150, 000 Hotels & 150, 000 Car Rental, Home appliances’ retailers & coffee with Shakira &/or Tom Cruise …..all in one webpage.
G) Member of New Futuristic Branch Committee
Understand and address Customers’ high tech and futuristic needs
Build & Start implementing, along with the Consumer Banking Executive team the Future Dream branch strategy
G) Member of KNET, Bank representative (Kuwait Net: local switch)
Work with KNET on advanced acquiring tools (NFC, I-POS…etc.) according to Bank strategy
H) Gulf Bank Cards & Assets representative in Central Bank of Kuwait meetings/committees
Responsible to implement Central Bank Regulations
Represent Gulf Bank in all central Bank Cards/ Assets meetings
Being a Member of the Consumer Banking Restructuring Executive team, I have held more than one Position, including but not limited to: Head of Consumer Banking Proposition, Head of Cards, Head of Portfolio Management, Head of Business Acquisition & Sales…..
Main Tasks were focused on Re-building/Re-Launching a big part of the Consumer Banking Division from Business Model general perspective, to pricing, Product Development, system requirements, Policies & Procedures… and establishing a new outdoor acquisition team to acquire new Asset business, surpassing repayment volumes to insure net growth, in addition to a Portfolio Management & MI unit securing best practices for better performance at both P&L & delinquency ratio Levels
Tasks included P&L Management, with consistent Net growth target managed by a well-designed Calculated Risk strategy.
The Launched Programs helped Bank of Beirut occupying a better space in Consumers’ mind.
Examples of the Launched & Managed Programs: Affinity programs with major universities, offering all Consumer Banking Products (housing Loans, Car Loans, Personal Loans & Cards), The first Vertical Cards in the middle east tackling different segments & Profiles from Mass Retail to Ultra high net worth.
At American Express, I have to developed and launched many Cards Products, some with major banks in Lebanon (Audi Bank, Blom Bank…), and other on Proprietary business basis.
My responsibilities included P&L, Products Management, Banks’ Relations, Marketing & Sales, Issuing & Acquiring Payment Business, & Credit & Risk (first degree approvals).
Examples of the Launched & Managed Programs: “Blue Card” with Audi Bank, All Amex Cards with many banks as well as part of Amex proprietary business & Centurion Black Card for Ultra high Net worth Profiles (3, 000$ annual fee)
During my First employment at Gulf Bank, I was responsible of Product & Business Rationalization, with a main task to re-organize Consumer Banking Products Segments, by eliminating non profitable & non desired products by customers, in addition to developing new products in line with the Central Bank regulations.
Assets & Liability Businesses were covered, from low cost deposits (most importantly to decrease cost of fund), to basic Deposits, Youth accounts, education plans and Assets covering all personal loans types & Cards/Payments.
My employment at Standard Chartered Bank was my first employment after University Graduation, were I have covered many areas as part of a rotation plan: from Cash management, to wealth management, to Cards & Assets & General Consumer Banking Business Acquisition
My roles were more into business acquisition and data/performance analysis.
