Working as a Project Planning Manager, my job assignment during the tenure includes:-
Project Initiation phase (Immediate after receipt of LOA ( Letter of Award) from Client:-
• Conducting project feasibility studies and defining the Project/Suppliers scope of supplies.
• Defining project battery limits and marking up the same in Project general layouts etc.
• Preparation of Project L1 Schedule for Client / Bankers submission.
• Preparation of Project DPR (Detailed Project reports) for Client/Bankers submission.
• Preparation of Project Communication Procedure and Organization chart (For Client Submission).
• Defining Project control philosophy and issues escalation process.
Project Planning (After Approval of all deliverables of Project initiation phase):-
• Defining Project Architecture (Work breakdown structure, Project activities & codes etc.) in Primavera P6.
• Preparation/Validation of Project L2/L3 schedule and defining major/critical project milestones.
• Defining project roles/resources/cost against each activity and checking the resources loading.
• Identify the project critical path and project risks etc.
• Freezing/Signoff of project baseline schedule and releasing the same to all the departments.
Project Monitoring and Control (During the Project executing phase):-
• Releasing of long term (3 month look ahead) and short term (1week look ahead) work plans.
• Conducting daily/weekly/monthly review meetings with Engineering, Procurement, Construction teams.
• Coordinating with the various stakeholders (Internal & External) and expediting the deliverables.
• Preparation and releasing of weekly and Monthly Progress Reports to Client.
• Escalating unsolved Engineering / Procurement/Construction issues to higher-ups for immediate resolution.
• Updating Project Scheduling on weekly basis and defining action plan in case of any deviation from project baseline.
• Review of contractors BBU (Billing breakup) and Running account Invoices.
• Defining the project critical path and manpower resources leveling and prioritizing the project activities.
• Preparation of project earned value curves, calculating Project Cost and Schedule performance index (CPI & SPI).
• Preparation and managing the project cash flows and forecast the cash out flow for the project.
• Preparation of project progress curves (S-Curve, Earned Value Curve etc.).
Project Closure :-
• Responsible for contract change management and settling the extra claims raised by all the contractors.
• Responsible for project change management and contractor closure.
Working as a Project Lead planner, my job assignment during the tenure includes:-
• Preparation of project schedule and arranging meeting with Engineering, Procurement, Construction Leaders for validating the activities duration and linking in primavera P6.
• Responsible for finalizing WBS structure, activity ID, coding philosophy and defining project calendar for various project activities.
• Identification of project milestones, development of activity list for engineering, procurement & construction.
• Development of activity sequencing / network logics and identifying critical path.
• Responsible for providing look ahead plans to Engineering, Procurement and Construction Team for Plan their activities.
• Updating Project Scheduling and keep tacking on major project milestone and define action plan in case of any deviation from frozen Project Baseline.
• Weekly updates to P6 schedule for all activities past and future including reports showing look ahead activities as well status updates of completed activities.
• Organizing Daily, Weekly and Monthly Meeting with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Quality.
• Generating Project and Function S-Curves and Earned Value Curves.
• Calculating Supplier and Department OTD (On Time Delivery) and submit the report to higher management to keep those factors while selecting any supplier or Contractor.
• Supporting contracts team for analyzing the schedule impact during force majeure event and providing the evidences for extension of time (EOT) claims.
• Introducing Engineering Resource Management with primavera in Alstom India.
Resource Loading and Man hours / Man Days allocation.
Assigning budgeted man hours / man days.
Updating Engineering man hours and generation of S Curves for the same.
Working as a Project Engineer with Essar Project Ltd, During the tenure I was looking after Steel and Power projects my job assignment includes:-
• Preparing Project BL schedule and get it validated by Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Leads.
• Releasing and tracking look ahead plans to Engineering, Procurement & Construction Teams.
• Responsible for Project Material Indenting, follow up with procurement for timely delivery of material.
• Responsible for Project site progress of Electrical and Instrument activities.
• Conducting review meeting with all Project stake holders (Internal and External).
• Preparing catch up plan in case of any delay occurred in project level wrt to baseline schedule.
• Co-Ordination with Procurement team and supplier for timely delivering the material at site/shop.
• Responsible for Electrical and Instrumentation equipments erection/installation work.
