Operational Responsibilities
1.Control the movement of marine vessels in the Dubai Creek, Hamriyah port and Dubai territorial waters
2.Monitor the VTS (Vessel Traffic System) and communicate with vessels for navigation assistance, traffic organization or any other information service
3.Coordinate the collection of fees
4.Direct vessel to allocated berths in accordance with vessels requirements and specifications
5.Operate equipment for communication (VHF) and establish traffic image of marine vessels in the area
6.Provide navigation assistance service and transmit such information to aid ships in difficult navigational or meteorological circumstances
7.Receive emergency calls and coordinate with Coast Guard, Marine Police and Rescue operations teams in case of any accidents (Mayday Call) etc.
8.Respond to emergency situations such as distress marine pollution and other special circumstances if required by the vessels inside the Dubai Creek, Hamriyah port or in Dubai waters
9.Communicate with ships, allied services and other agencies under emergency situations by means of Radio (VHF) and telecommunication facilities
10.Prepare the weather forecast and give serial number and distribute to all ports and stations
11.Prepare weather forecast and wind chart at pre-specified periodic intervals and broadcast on channel 16 & 14 and the same to all related parties through Email and faxes
12.Attend admin, shipping customers call round the clock
13.Assist RTA Water Taxis and Dubai Farris for smooth and safe navigation inside the creek and in Dubai waters.
14.Ensure that appropriate records of ship movements are maintained People Management Responsibilities
15.Assist in navigating the department Survey Boat around all the Coastal Projects in Dubai Territorial water to inspect the Aid-Navigation in day and night rounding and prepare report and inform the Harbour master
