Currently employed as a senior member of the Construction Supervision team for the Roads Department of Georgia on the Batumi Bypass Road Project.
The Batumi Bypass Road Project is 13km long dual lane road project which includes 5 tunnels (drill and blast) 13 bridges and numerous abutments and embankments and all associated works such as piling works and construction of access roads, which when completed in 2020 will provide road traffic congestion relief to the coastal town of Batumi.
Roles and responsibilities include reviewing the final tunnel design, overseeing the tunnel construction, review of the safety procedures set up by the contractor, managing risk (programme, cost and quality) and improving construction methods and training the local engineers on tunnel construction and maintenance.
Extended duties include doing similar for other aspects of the project.
