Triaging patients and prioritizing care.
Provide emergency medical care for patients suffering from trauma, acute chest pain and
respiratory complications.
Applying splint / casts with suspected limb fracture.
Assisting surgeon in minor surgeries like Excision, Suturing, Incision and Drainage.
Doing dressing change, Suture removal and Clip Removal.
Provide information and support to patients and family members regarding condition,
prognosis and treatment program
Assessment of patients with various presenting conditions, their signs and symptoms, verbal complaints, history of present illness and related medical histories like diabetes, hypertension, chronic diseases, etc.
Admitting and securing consent for management from the patient or from significant others.
Planning and providing need and care for these patients.
Proper coordination and orientation of patient’s admission.
Proper segregation and isolation of patients.
Assisting in various investigative and curative procedure such as echocardiography, nasopharyngoscopy and application of casts for fractured patients.
Blood extractions for blood investigations.
Starting intravenous lines or blood administration as ordered.
Administering medications with strict observation of the 5 R’s and narcotic care.
Vital signs taking using manual and digital apparatus together with intake and output monitoring.
Glasgow coma scale monitoring for unconscious and neurological cases.
Pre-op care of patients with history of medical conditions and its immediate post-op close monitoring.
Performing independent nursing functions.
Accompanying Doctor’s rounds and carrying out Doctor’s orders.
Performing invasive and non-invasive procedures such as catetherization for male and female patients, nasogastric tube insertion, central venous line insertion, ECG taking, and skin traction application.
Care for bedridden patients, proper turning and positioning to avoid pressure sores and contractures, suctioning, administering oxygen therapy as ordered and tube feeding via nasogastric or percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes (PEG).
Accurate documentation of nursing procedures and management.
Care of patients with chest drainiage.
Care of patients with trachaeostomy tubes.
Care of patients with J-vac and Mallecot drains.
Health teachings imparted as related to their disease and nutrition.
Proper discharging with instructions and follow-up.
