As Director of Operations, I lead marketing, digital transformation and continuous improvement efforts while overseeing company management and operations. I develop and refine business plans, implement digital systems, and cultivate high-performing management teams to drive ongoing enhancements. I promote strategic policies, develop standard procedures, foster positive corporate cultures, and optimize business operation systems. My responsibilities include formulating business objectives, conducting meetings, and supervising employees to meet performance goals. Additionally, I monitor industry trends, evaluate information technology, and proactively address challenges to optimize organizational performance.
Leading Construction, Earthmoving and Heavy equipment department with P & L responsibility. The business is countrywide sales and after-sales support with a portfolio of multiple international brands like XCMG (World No. 3), Maximal Forklifts & Warehouse Equipment (A Hyster-Yale Group brand), Nilfisk etc.
Lead QHSE management systems and initiated a performance and operational excellence culture in the organization. Major projects and areas are as follows:
Lead ESAP in Tricom Wind Power Project (50 MW) under IFC guidelines and local laws.
Lead ESAP in Zephyr Wind Power Project (50 MW) under IFC guidelines and local laws.
Executed continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma DMAIC and Lean methodology.
Lead Cummins Excel Audit program for compliance, organizational growth and to achieve excellence for the organization’s growth and customer satisfaction.
Implemented Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
Supported management to develop strategies in line with the organization's vision and mission and performance evaluation by continuous improvement approach.
Lead a section of Heavy and Earthmoving Machinery countrywide business including Sales and After-sales; having 3 brands SANY, SINOMACH and Beiben Trucks.
Achieved 4 M USD sales in 1.5 years.
Established and managed a new engineering business company in Caterpillar dealership, having 4 international brands SANY for concrete machinery, mobile and crawler cranes, port machinery and pile driving rigs; SEM (Caterpillar) for earthmoving machinery; AMCO VEBA for self-loading truck cranes and Almand Bros. for lighting towers. Lead the countrywide operations from marketing to product support and achieved profitability within 3 years. Some specific achievements and highlights are as follows:
•Exceeded product support revenue target of 200% - 2013.
•Achieved 100% business target set by SEM (Caterpillar) - 2013.
•Nominated VP of SANY Asia Pacific Dealer Association - 2012.
•Achieved 60% of 2014 sales targets in January 2014.
•Member of a cross-functional team as an advisor to develop the company's new website i.e. www.aesl.com.pk according to caterpillar guidelines.
Accomplished "Improving Used Equipment Sales" six sigma project and achieved targets in terms of increased market share, revenue and profit growth.
•Developed and implemented an automated used rental equipment buy-back procedure, considering several operational and financial variables.
•Developed an online real-time IT system for the used equipment department, from equipment identification to purchasing and refurbishing to sales and warranty. Established time benchmarking based on VOC and VOB, monitored time delay at each critical stage and associated cost to improve efficiency. Identified and eliminated wastes from the process according to lean principles and improved the machine availability to sell in the market.
•Supervised other six sigma black belts as an advisor for their projects.
•Trained and developed green belts and established six sigma and lean culture within the group of companies by training and presentations.
•Developed and established a baseline of renewable energy business for the company comprising biogas, landfill gas, solar power, wind power etc. as a special assignment.
Established procedures, documentation, and standard drawings from project concept to commissioning for the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) compressor division. Coordinated with IMW and Caterpillar to select the appropriate engines, safeties, control and interface with the compressor to use as a prime mover.
Turnkey projects executed for Shell Pakistan, Chevron Pakistan and other customers to install and commission CNG stations countrywide.
Successfully managed project for ADNOC to install and commission SDMO diesel generator sets at several gas stations throughout the UAE. Successfully managed a project for Kharafi International to install a 4 MW powerhouse in Dubai Festival City.
Established procedures, documentation, and standard drawings from project concept to commissioning for the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) compressor division. Coordinated with IMW and Caterpillar to select the appropriate engines, safeties, control and interface with the compressor to use as a prime mover.
