L & T Komatsu, Bangalore Underwent a basic training for one month from 3rd to 31st May, 2011, to learn about the various process and techniques involved in the manufacture of Komatsu excavators, learn about the latest automated technology used in the field of manufacturing, CNC machine language, Hydraulics Rail Wheel Factory, Bangalore (1st to 29th December 2009) Underwent a basic training for one month to learn about the various process and techniques involved in the manufacture of wheels and axles for the Indian railways 1) Learn about different composition of steels and different heat treatment techniques of steel to achieve desired hardness. 2) Variety of steps involved in the manufacturing process 3) Various tests conducted to ensure the components meet the safety requirements. Major Project Performance analysis of a valveless piezoelectric micropump was carried out. Lead Zirconium Titanate (PZT) was used as the actuator. Passive valves were used instead of active valves to reduce the cost of manufacturing. Experimental analysis as well as CFD analysis of the micropump was carried out. CFD analysis was carried out using the FEM package ANSYS 13. This was used to determine the optimum design on which experimental analysis was carried out.
