Early-stage researcher in the TeraApps project under the Marie Curie H2020 acts.
▪ Project title: Resonant tunneling diode optoelectronic transmitters and receivers.
Responsibilities
▪ Design and characterize novel optoelectronic resonant tunneling diode-based
photodetectors for telecom wavelengths.
▪ Simulation of concept designs for high-speed photodetectors and lasers.
▪ Report to project management board on work progress.
▪ Liaise with partners doing material growth and fabrication of devices.
▪ Ordering wafers and lab equipment.
EMAL administrative offices and facilities Project (ESTIDAMA Pearl 2, certified project).
Project value: 85, 000, 000 AED (€19, 000, 000).
Achievements:
▪ Cost reduction in MV cables by introducing alternative material (saving 600, 000 AED)
▪ Mitigation of 1, 000, 000AED loss in MV switchgear by revising short circuit capacity.
▪ 2, 000, 000 AED saving in lighting budget with alternative designs and brands.
Responsibilities:
▪ Design review, redesign, and produce shop drawings and “As built” drawings.
▪ Attend client meetings to negotiate specs., designs, material, and new proposals.
▪ Update QS department with progress reports for billing purposes
▪ Coordinate and get approvals from technical consultants and third parties
▪ Propose alternative designs and material in order to meet the set budget
▪ Review specifications, material submittals, work plans and tender documents
▪ Commissioning of Electrical systems at construction sites
