I embarked on this intensive two-year research-based program in 2015 and successfully completed it in 2018. My dedication to academic excellence and my real-world project management experience converged during this period, resulting in a holistic learning experience that has significantly enhanced my expertise. Throughout the course of my studies, I maintained a GPA of 3.7, reflecting my commitment to academic rigor and excellence. What made this academic pursuit even more enriching was the fact that I was simultaneously contributing to various complex projects in my professional capacity, which provided me with invaluable real-time insights that I could directly apply to my studies. One of the highlights of my M.Phil. journey was the extensive research project I undertook on the topic of "Time and Cost Overrun in Civil Engineering Projects." This research endeavor aimed to dissect the root causes of delays and cost overruns in projects—an area of great significance to the construction industry. I conducted in-depth interviews with over 100 companies, meticulously collected data, and rigorously analyzed it. The culmination of this research effort was the identification of five crucial factors that contribute to time and cost overruns. These encompassed delays in management decisions, untimely payments, resource inadequacy, delayed provision of drawings, and improper communication among stakeholders. The four-year degree program that followed was a comprehensive and rigorous endeavor, providing me with a profound education in the field of civil engineering.
