College Final Year Project at Syed Ammal Engineering College

* In our project, first we extract bio-diesel from the grape seed oil using trans-esterification method.
* Then we will confirm it as biodiesel using the FTIR spectrum test. After confirmation, we blend CeO2 nano
additives in the ratio of 10ppm, 25ppm and 50ppm with the bio-diesel using the Ultrasonic Interferometer
and separate as 3 samples.
* We perform tests like density, kinematic viscosity, flash point, fire point and calorific value for the above
samples. Then we also took Performance Test (SFC, BTHE, and Temperature) and Emission Test (HC,
Smoke, NOx, CO) in single cylinder Four Stroke Diesel Engine for each sample separately.
* The values which are obtained from the above tests will be plotted in graph along X and Y axis.
* From the graph, we prove that the Break Thermal Efficiency (BTHE) and the kinematic viscosity increases
and at the same time NOx emission decreases.
