Assigned a special task to lead a benchmarking study that aims to to unearth best
practices and lessons of experience of similar institutions within the context of developing an overall Decentralization and Local Presence Strategy for the
Islamic Development Bank Group. The study covers: Mandate, governance and accountability of the Regional and Country Offices; Organizational Aspects;
Business Processes and division of labor between HQ and the local offices;
Delegation of authority (of tasks, in conceptual, planning, operational and financial affairs; Staffing; Knowledge management and feedback mechanism from local offices to HQ; Management and monitoring of local offices
performance (KPIs, Management Reports, etc.)
2005-2009 Director, Organization and Management Development -
Department Islamic Development Bank (IDB)
Led the Organization and Business Improvement function in IsDB, providing across the IDB Group, services in four areas: organization development,
business processes management, strategy advisory services and project
management. The Department works closely with the Senior Management, Vice
Presidents, Senior Staff, Department Heads and other managers and staff to ensure that the organization of the IDB Group is aligned with the IDB Strategy, and is modern and responsive to carry out of the mission of the IDB Group.

Responsible for Business Process Management including reengineering and incremental improvements of processes through a Business Process Centre of
Excellence, design and implementation of quality management frameworks,
introduction of new management techniques and corporate project and change
management services provided to major programs and projects.
1993 - 1998 Head of the Central Accounting Section, Finance Department,
Islamic Development Bank (IDB) --
Responsible for maintaining reliable and timely financial records and accounts of external and internal transactions relating to assets, liabilities, capital,
reserves, income and expenditure of the Ordinary Capital Resources; as well as the special funds and trust funds of the Bank; establishing and overseeing the
framework of internal controls over the financial transactions of all
departments, with a view to ensuring the assets of the Bank are adequately
safeguarded and liabilities are properly managed. The smooth financial
operations contributed to the Bank's triple-A rating.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL PARTICIPATION 1997: 1998
Represented the Islamic Development Bank as a member of the Board and
Standards Committees for the "Accounting and Auditing Organization for
Islamic Financial Institution (AAOIFI) " 4. During this period I contributed in issuing several Exposure drafts and Islamic Accounting Standards.
1992 - 1993 Head of Project Disbursements, Islamic Development Bank

Responsible for developing and maintaining the Bank's policies for disbursements, billing and repayments, with a view to ensuring the integrity of the financial transactions with its borrowing member countries
1987 - 1992 Senior Management Consultant (Ernst & Young) 2
Worked with Ernst & Young International, Chartered Accountants and
Management Consultants on several Management Consultancy Services (MCS)
projects in the Middle East region. In this capacity, I led teams of consultants to deliver a number of projects in various industries, particularly in the banking
sector, across a number of countries including, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen and
Saudi Arabia.

In my post with KPMG HAZEM HASSAN & CO 3, I was the Manager in charge of the Office's Banking and Oil & Gas services responsible: for a wide
range of prime local and international clients; for supervising the audit teams and overseeing the planning and audit processes as well as the actual field work at interim and final, statutory audits; for ensuring the firm is compliant with risk
management procedures; and for providing leadership and direction to designated teams.

I started my employment in 1976, when I joined for a brief period, the Ministry of Local Government-Egypt as a managerial and financial controller. In this
capacity, I worked with the local municipality to assist with making its
operations both as effective and efficient as possible and to make sure that the municipality gets value for its funds.
