> Create full financial transparency to all stakeholders and recommend appropriate courses of action when results differ from plan.
> Ensure controls are in place to safeguard the University’s assets.
> Lead, manage, and execute the financial planning & budgeting processes of the UAEU.
> Ensure UAEU compliance to accounting and financial policies and procedures.
> Educate UAEU Management & Staff on financial processes/policies and the financial impact of business & operational decisions. Drive process improvements.
> Understand the business, operations, key drivers, and success factors
- Review and discuss the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting and database systems with management.
- Review and provide recommendations to improve the club computerized accounting system, internal controls (validation of data input, data processing and integration, data output)
- Participate in restructuring financial and administration policies and procedures.
- Provide advisement to top management to ensure strategic & tactical decisions are in support of best practices in Human Resources and Finance.
- Participate in developing and monitoring the progress in the strategic business planning
- Administer, monitor and guide Finance and HR staff to simplify and improve the workflow and documentation cycle.
- Develop and implement bar-coding and tagging system to monitor and control fixed assets and inventory
- Review and monitor the progress and the achievement of short and long-term planning objectives.
- Assist company with corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning
- Provide advisement to top management on short and long-term investments risks
- Identify and analyze new projects/ companies for future investments opportunities
- Analyze and monitor the preparation of the monthly and annual financial reports
- Supervise day-to-day accounting functions; general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, inventory and fixed assets transactions
- Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures so that accounting records provide accurate and timely information in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and monitor internal controls for accounting and audit functions.
- Establish and coordinate risk management policies and procedures.
- Manage treasury functions including financing, equity accounting, currency hedging, and cash management.
- Liaise with business center managers to develop operating and capital budgets and reporting systems
- Prepare and negotiate cash flow forecasts, bank covenants, financial statements with bank officials.
