A manager is responsible for the overall operations within a water treatment facility. Duties typically include worker supervision, enforcing plant procedures and policies.
STP Managers oversee the treatment, distribution and daily operations of water treatment facilities. They supervise teams of operators, institute plant policies and procedures, direct training programs and complete employee performance reviews. Managers ensure that the plant and its operators comply with safety and health standards by regularly testing the water supply and keeping meticulous records. They're also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition.
DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED:
1. Preparation of reports for submission to General Manager
2. Oversees the work of others contracted to work on plant components.
3. Confers with general Manager on plant operational problems.
4. Oversees the preventive maintenance program of the plant.
5. Oversees emergency and unscheduled work to assure appropriate follow through.
7. Implements, directs and enforces plant safety and risk management programs.
8. Coordinates equipment repair or replacement such that plant effluent quality limits are maintained.
9. Oversees preparation of work orders.
10. Oversees the requisition process for tools, materials, equipment, and services.
11. Responsible for inventory of stored material for use in the plant.
12. Reviews and comments on all plans for construction, repair, or replacement of any plant components.
13. Responsible for all section personnel issues including hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating.
14. Assists General Manager in preparation of budget by providing input relative to plant O & M fiscal needs.
Managing and completing the construction of Mafraq waste water treatment plant. (USAID Funded project) 28 million USD
Monitoring progress of construction against the program, and takes steps to ensure the program is achieved.
Provide management strategy for water supply and waste water treatment plant projects.
Evaluating current projects and provide plans for improvement.
Coordination and monitoring of contract progress including the preparation of the contract program, monitoring of progress and submission of monthly progress reports.
Reviewing and approve RFP for upcoming pipe line project.
Effectively convey work product and project results in technical documents, interviews, and oral presentations.
Responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects; coordinating and adjusting the work effort within the project team to ensure project work is completed on schedule and within allocated budget.
Issued payment certificates to USAID and Water Authority Of Jordan (WAJ).
Managing the construction of the design of new VO pump stations, odor control systems, Bar screen, SCADA systems, and new trunk line 5.6 Km (HDPE) to existing plant.
Managing committee meeting involving the Employers Rep and the consultant.
Build a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client’s counterpart staff.
•Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Project, to brief and to cost, time and quality targets.
•Management of electro mechanical works for Upgrading of Secondary Treatment Using HYBACS Technology (Smart Units) to eliminate or minimize impact on the existing plant and operations as much as possible.
•Involved of in placing orders and obtain final delivery times for all plant and equipment.
•Able to formulate and issue a detailed construction, installation and commissioning program.
•Developed a proposed sequencing of activities to allow for timely completion of the project whilst at the same time ensuring that any existing process units are out of operation for minimum period of time.
•Co-ordination and control of Project requirements from all relevant departments and Suppliers
•Involved in civil works design and construction, excavation, re-grading, feed connection chamber, distributing chamber, installation of large diameter pipe work, and refurbishment of existing aeration tanks, includes coating, cracks repair. Construction of new recycle/ surplus sludge pumps stations, and valve chambers.
•Supervised all Mechanical works in term of design specification & regulatory framework, which is undertaken in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
•Managing the project team and securing that the project is realized and delivered based on specification.
•In charge of the supply and installation of all mechanical equipments, penstocks, isolation valves, flow meters, inlet and discharge pipes (stainless steel & GRP). Air blowers, mixers,
Diffuser grids, fabricated bell mouth assemblies.
•Managing the project on the aspects time, money, quality, information and organization and guarding the progress and if necessary pro-active take action.
•Preparing a plan of approach for the project, explaining to and getting approval from the client.
•A technical understanding of the plant and equipment that are part of a water treatment process.
•Excellent verbal and written skills to convey information to Operations Centre staff, treatment staff, Managers, Team Leaders, Technicians, and Engineers.
•Liaise with the Employer/Engineer and stakeholders to insure that project deliverables are on time and meeting the quality targets.
•Engaged in Strategic projects such as Wadi Ma’in, Zara, & Mujib Water Treatment and Conveyance Project. Funded by the USAID Involved in plant layout, equipment construction, process flow, chemical processes, pretreatment and treatment process
•Pursued contacts with local government officials, and consultant (Black & Veatch) and USAID representative on a regular basis;
•Capability of providing technical leadership and strategic direction to the project activities and initiatives; lead inputs and provide support to national sector coordination and sanitation policy.
•Interacting with all internal and external counterparts of the project;
•Responsible for the operation & maintenance of water Treatment plants (Reverse Osmosis) in Jordan.
•Involved in setting specification for future water desalination projects.
•Daily tasks included field investigations, engineering scheme appraisal and design, project cost control.
•Supervision and monitoring the implementation of the water treatment plant project.
•Liaise with contractor’s teams involved in the maintenance of water treatment plant assets to ensure that the maintenance requirements are being adequately delivered.
•Coordination of maintenance resources during incident/emergency events
Role in Brief: Developed and recommended long-range plans to meet future maintenance needs for Seawater treatment plants (RO) and sewage water treatment plants. Capacities range between 5, 000-45, 000 m3/day
