Graduation Project : WLAN Infrastructure Design (Hospital Case Study) Graduation Project Summary: 1. The project's objective was designing a complete wireless network infrastructure (the ground floor as a prototype) for the Children's Oncology Hospital, 57357 - Cairo. The design mainly focused on guidelines for physical design, logical design, security design, network performance management and Quality of Service. 2. The physical design was primarily focusing on the Access Point placement to obtain optimum coverage. The results of the site survey were obtained using the Okuhura-Mata indoor path loss model. These results were verified practically through site surveys. 3. The logical design was concerned with providing functional basic networking services (IP addressing, name resolution, internet connectivity and other services) and other possible integrated services (the main study was on Voice over IP). 4. The security design provided a detailed comparison between different authentication methods and encryption techniques. Finally, two solutions were proposed according to the business size and requirements. 5. The network performance management and architecture presented a study on different mechanisms and considerations in designing a network, making it scalable to support any number of users and applications; all tailored to the business needs. I was responsible for the Logical Infrastructure Design of basic networking services. Graduation Project Grade: Excellent
1. Achieved grades of 4A*s, 2As, B in the O-Level. 2. Achieved grades of 2 Bs in the AS-Level.
