Duties and Responsibilities
• Accountable for the delivery of quality nursing care, utilizing the nursing process for all patients according to professional and legal requirements.
• Carry out doctor’s orders.
• Identifies the nursing needs of patients
• Providing patient medication as prescribed by doctor.
• Takes TPR and vital signs and record them.
• Doing intravenous insertion therapies.
• Set up and carries out medical asepsis.
• Monitoring intake and output of the patient.
• Communicates and acts as liaison between patient, family, hospital staff, and medical staff.
• Assists physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Makes round and sees to it that all patients in the unit get the necessary care and discuss with clinicians about patient’s progress.
• Supports patient’s right to make decision about care and treatment.
• Reviews all patient information, including laboratory and other test results and progress notes in patient health record daily.
• Triage patient problems as necessary.
• Ensures effective communication and flow of information to all appropriate care providers.
• Coordinates patient admission/discharge/transfer arrangements. Arrange for continuing out-patient services and arrange for home care referral as needed.
• Ensures patient/staff confidentiality.
• Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.
