Primary teaching duties consisted of teaching communicative English classes to VIP adult students, teenagers and young learners, as well as delivering demo lessons to prospective students. In addition to a minimum of 20 weekly teaching hours, I was responsible for planning and delivering weekly adult Life Clubs (English Corners) to adult students. I also planned and delivered monthly training workshops to foreign and local teachers, as well as English classes to the local administrative staff. While working for EF I developed the ability to speak effectively and facilitate group discussion.

ESL Instructor (Volunteer)| Grossmont Adult Education| 2012 January-2012 July
For six months I taught adult Iraqi refugees in a multi-level ESL class sponsored by Grossmont Adult Education, in El Cajon, California. I was responsible for lesson planning, instruction, and student assessments for a group of 10-12 Beginning Low to Beginning Intermediate students. I taught three days per week; each class was two and a half hours. By consistently focusing on student needs, I increased the baseline standardized literacy assessment scores by over 18% in six months. In this environment I honed my time-management skills, as well as the ability to motivate people and plan lessons effectively.
