I am working as a Registered Nurse in Dubai Modern Education School, Dubai, and UAE from September 2012 to date. Here, we have a proper clinic setup with all the first aid items, taking care of almost 900 children with minor problems and also severe injuries. I came across cases with small injuries, severe injuries, Headaches, fractures, falls, pain in different limbs, abdominal pain, Nausea and vomiting, nasal congestion, breathing difficulties, asthma, diabetes etc. We treat the children according to their needs and for severe injuries we refer the child to hospital after proper assessment of area injured, pain relief treatment and giving splint support to the broken bony area. We also provide O2 therapy and Nebulization as required.
I conducted vaccination program twice a year for age group between 5 years till 18 years. Medical and Dental checkups are arranged for the students and done by Doctor with nurse assistance. I took care of special needs children and also for those who are suffering from illnesses like Diabetes, Asthma, SLE, Sickle cell anemia, Thalassemia etc. Health Education is a fundamental intervention done for the children on basic issues, their ongoing needs and many general topics. We keep all daily records of children visits, their vaccinations, managing their health records, documenting all referral cases, severe injuries cases, treatment, Supervisory rounds of different areas in terms of maintaining hygiene, making monthly reports and sending to health authorities . We also run the smoking campaign for children including teaching sessions and making support groups around them who will support them and guide them accordingly. Also, currently we are focusing on the obese students with BMI more than 30 and their risk of getting Diabetes. We are planning do a short research after the approval of Health Authority and parents. We want to see the relation of Obesity, Diabetes and their genetic factors.
Working at Al Zahra Private Medical Centre in Gastroenterelogy and Endocrinology Department. Also worked at the Primary Care Unit intermittently. Also dealt with the patients going through Endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
I was the senior critical care nurse at Aga Khan University Hospital. I was Looking after critically ill adult and paediatric patients, patients who required advance life care support. Cared for patients suffering from multiorgan failure, septic shock, haemodynamics instability. Also provided supervision to novice nurses being a Senior Critical Care Nurse. Certified for adult and paediatric advance life care support courses and also for basic life care support.
