Project: Egypt Pavilion in Expo 2020-Dubai (Expo Dubai)

Project Description: A 3 stories pavilion for Egypt in Expo 2020-Dubai with built up area of 3000 m2, the project is a high-end fit-out and technology which reflects the historical, present and future image of Egypt, the pavilion comprises 11 zones introducing different categories which reflects Egypt civilization and the present development in addition to future expectations, the pavilion had a high technology feature and high-end fit-out.

Role: I played the project manager role(Client-side) in my company which represents the Egyptian authorities, I was responsible for assigning subcontractors, following up the progress against program, review and approve all submittals, shop drawings, payments, and lead the coordination between all excursion disciplines.

Project: KHALIDIA PALACE HOTEL (A 5 stars hotel at Al Maktoum Road-Deira Dubai)

Project Description: A 5 stars’ hotel (14 Floors), located at Al-MAktoum road in Deira District- Dubai, the Project comprises design, and supervision of construction and interior design activities of the hotel till handing over, the hotel comprises 320 rooms including 53 suites, 3 restaurants with kitchens, swimming pool, laundry, Sauna & steam, SPA, banquet halls and two underground parking floors.
The plot area of the project is 3000 square meters (Built Up Area 35000 m2) with construction project value of AED 205 million.
Role: Leading the supervision team to monitor the contractor progress during construction period, monitor the progress against the approved Programme, answer contractor’s queries, approve material, approve shop drawings, coordinate between all project parties, inspect all executed activities at site, report weekly to client for the project status, organize weekly technical and progress meetings, review and approve payments and variations if any.

Chef at Middle East Cold Storage Facility Dubai Investment Park

Project: comprises of the design, construction, completion, warranty and 12-month maintenance of the CHEF
Middle East Cold Storage Distribution facility project. The new facility consists of constructing an HQ Office Block
(G+1), Chilled Cooler, Freezer & Dry Goods Store, Food Preparation, Co-Pack, Cooled Marshal & Docking port,
and Transport Receiving & Dispatch offices within a pre-engineered steel frame structure and insulated sandwich
panel envelope. The warehouse gross floor area is 9, 290 m2 with 1790 m2 of offices.

Project Description:
This project included the construction of 94 buildings, 424 apartments, in addition to 8 villas, health
club, mosque, four substations and central water tank. All the buildings were designed as LGS (Light Gauge
Steel) system. The mosque, health club, substations, and villas were designed as a conventional concrete
skeleton system. The scope of the project also involved the construction of infrastructure works (drainage,
water supply, storm water, electrical works, etc.) and roads works within project plot limits. The built-up
on.value of AED 265.00 milliwith a contract2; the total area was 125000 m2area of the project is 80, 000 m
Role:
In this project, I worked as a Construction Manager leading a team consists of a project engineer and
ten site engineers. I was responsible for both construction and engineering works, which includes but not
limited to reviewing the drawings, preparation of shop drawings, preparation of material submittals,
preparation of coordination drawings, allocation of subcontractors, coordination between subcontractors,
and following up the delivery of materials and materials at the site. In addition, I also followed up the
execution and monitoring the progress of construction works according to the program of work.

Projects:
1-Korimate- Hurgada pipe line (Red Sea)
Korimate Hurgada pipeline was a pipeline built to transmit water from the Nile River from Korimate in southern
Cairo to Hurgada on the red sea, a distance of 450 km.
My company was responsible for fixing 18 km of G R P pipes 700 mm in diameter & working water pressure of 15
bars & test pressure of 22.5 bars to the south of Ras Ghareb city.
I was responsible for a team consisting of a surveyor, a fixing labor gang & equipment driver with their 2 excavators,
a loader, a telescope crane & a jack hammer. I followed all excavating works in different soil types (sand, clay, rock
etc.) and supervised all leveling works & sand compaction under pipes & fixing works with Viking Johnson
connections & fixing of special parts.
I also followed the works of construction of (wash & air) valve rooms which were constructed of reinforced concrete.
I was directly responsible for overseeing test pressure operations to ensure all pipes & connection for every fixed
kilometer was safe. I was also responsible for ensuring maintenance works for equipment was undertaken & took
care of everyone’s safety on site.
I reported monthly to the Owner of the company regarding the progress of works accomplished.
2-Beba Water Supply Network (Beni Swief)
Beba water supply network was a project, which entailed establishing a new network of pipes to supply pure water
from a water treatment station in Beba city in Beni Swief governorate to all streets in Beba city.
In this project, I was responsible for leading a small team of one excavator & a fixing pipe gang. Works undertaken
in crowded streets, fixing GR P pipelines 300 mm in diameter with 10 bars working pressure & 15 bars test pressure.
I was responsible for all works in the project such as surveying, leveling excavating, fixing of pipes testing of parts &
filling of lines again, in addition to this, I was also responsible for the safety of both labors & members of the public.
I reported monthly to the Owner of the company regarding the progress of works accomplished.
3-New Cairo Drainage Network (Cairo)
New Cairo is a new city to the north of Cairo & in this project; our company was the selected Contractor for the
National Authority for Pure Water & Sewage Water. We established a drainage network in the streets of the first
collection zone using head & tail pipes with slopes in order to reach depths of up to 10 meters using wooden sheet
piles. I led a team consisting of professional manual excavating laborers. I was responsible for the supervision of
surveying works to determine the correct path & for leveling with slopes determined by the owner. I oversaw the
construction of manholes with curtain forms of reinforced concrete as well as the making of all connections making
sure the works carried out safely without any seepage.
I reported monthly to the Owner of the company regarding the progress of works accomplished.

4-Coral Beach Resort (El-Arish)
Coral Beach Resort was a huge tourist project consisting of more than 200 rooms in addition to a reception building,
4 swimming pools, a sports area, gardens areas & the village services building.
In this project, I was responsible for the mobilization to site & the leveling of the land. I was the main person
responsible for supervising civil activities for all buildings on the site. I also supervised the installation of pipelines &
drainage network works in the project.
Other duties included also the supervision of activities for the 4 swimming pools including foundation works &
isolating against water seepage works, fixation of water supply & drainage systems of the pools. I also followed the
construction Programme for numerous project activities.
In this project, I reported daily to the head office in Cairo.

In the Egyptian military forces as a first lieutenant, I worked in a pontoon steel bridge unit. In my unit, I was the Civil Engineer Supervisor responsible for all civil work required of the unit such as steel hungers for cars & any reinforced concrete building in the unit. During my service, I participated in the preparation of a pontoon bridge, which made for the opera of Aida in the west bank of Nile River in October 1994. In this project, I was the Civil Engineer responsible for the engineering preparation works for the bridge, which included the casting of concrete blocks & resting them by the tow banks with a certain scope to be an industrial ramp for the bridge.
