• Accountable for developing, deploying and maintaining the Change Management process.
• Responsible for ensuring that the efficiency and effectiveness of the Change Management process is regularly reviewed and audited, and is subjected to continuous improvement and remain fit for purpose.
• Analyzing and reviewing recorded RFC’s from internal and external resources.
• Reviewing, classifying, and prioritizing the changes across different dimensions.
• Defining standard changes to delegate responsibility to service desk.
• Analyzing and approving the non-standard configuration item requests.
• Analyzing and approving the minor changes.
• Identifying the CAB members chairing the CAB meetings.
• Defining the change owners, project managers and participates in change scheduling.
• Resolving or escalating the conflicts in change implementation across departments
• Monitoring performance of change implementation throughout milestones and reports to the CAB members
• Maintaining forward schedule of change
• Keeping requestor and affected customers up to date about change status (approvals, notifications etc)
• Reviewing and documenting the impact and success of change after implementation
• Initiating fall-back in case of failure, receiving approval of CAB members, if involved.
• Creating and managing a complete and up-to-date definitive software library (DSL) and a definitive hardware store (DHS)
• Developing and maintaining a release policy defining how and when releases are configured
• Managing the whole activities of release management process as per ITIL best practices
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
• Implement the policies for the use of the computer system and network
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
• Configure and add new services as necessary.
