4 years of hands-on experience managing testing and commissioning activities as 3rd party /or direct managing, being engaged in +7 mega projects listing my responsibilities and activities as below:
• Attending Project Manager weekly meeting Responsible for (CxA, CxC) Activity Progress.
• Attend & Hold commissioning meetings to highlight any constraints.
• Attend Handover meetings representing (owner/client).
• Manage the process of requesting or defining the project requirements for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up / handover and turnover.
• Provide first line contact with project managers, class surveyor, client site team, local and offshore vendors to ensure all commissioning requirements are meeting class and project specifications.
• Handling Testing & Commissioning activities (Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and TAB) of Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Firefighting, Domestic Water, Drainage, BMS, Irrigation, Grey Water Treatment) on a spot basis, witness mechanical system final testing and commissioning.
• Preparing Testing & Commissioning Progress dashboards and Progress reports including TAB progress report (Weekly).
• Preparing Testing & Commissioning Plan, Method Statement for mechanical systems.
• Monitor commissioning progress and resolve any problems that may arise and follow-up on all submitted inspection requests.
• Preparation of O&M Manuals & Training Manuals.
• Design Drawings Review from Commissioning Point of View.
• Troubleshooting for mechanical systems (testing and commissioning failures).
• Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to MEP services and report to the project director on the same.
• Manage the day-to-day work of the site mechanical team.
• Review Contractor’s installation method statements.
• Monitor quality of the Contractor’s construction installations.
• Assist with MEP Design and reviews systems design including HVAC, Firefighting and Sanitary
• Verify the accuracy of Shop Drawings and their compliance to the specification, design and existing local authority standard.
• Prepare the MEP section of the Project Managers monthly progress report.
• Deal with Contractor’s RFIs relating to the MEP works.
• Attend the Project Manager’s internal meetings.
• Witness on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing and any other testing that may be required during the first fix works.
• On a spot basis, witness mechanical system final testing and commissioning.
• Reporting to the engineering head.
• Responsible for all mechanical works in all our new projects including HVAC, Fire fighting and plumbing.
• Analyze all the tender layouts and review all the designs.
• Keeps daily records of work performed and materials, and inspects construction work.
• Responsible for field activities of all site development and subcontractors which include
scheduling, tracking progress, inspections, and quality control testing.
• Providing the construction site report, quantifying the materials and work percentage on site.
• Follow up on all the activities on site and dealing with all kind of problems.
The Training time was very short and a lot to learn in a couple of months, unforgettable time in KAUH full of new experiences that improved me to fullest in HVAC engineering.
My college experience was just the beginning of the rest of my life where I finally learned who I truly was, who my true friends were, and how to live life to its fullest while taking advantage of every opportunity life threw at me.
