• Leading and managing control system & automation engineers/technicians and related activities that include maintenance, technical support, and projects execution for ongoing plant operation.
• Responsibilities on day to day maintenance activities, process control modification and/or improvement & troubleshooting as well as Project Management and coordination on various aspect of Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Shut Down (ESD) and Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Industrial Control System (ICS) Cyber Security, Plant Historian Database and Real time Process Information, Advance Process Control (APC), Alarm Management System, Operation Monitoring, and Operator Training Simulator to ensure high quality services to the operation team with effective management of work load.
• Project implementation to develop and keep current road map addressing of control system reliability and availability over plant life span. Addressing and implementing solutions to encounter daily problem of control automation systems and come up with solutions towards plant process control optimization.
• Carry out all activities involved in monitoring, controlling, and modifying on DCS, ESD, RTPIS, and other control system related job, includes routine system monitoring, backup, discussion of operation and maintenance issues.
• Carry-out implementation of changes with major plant shutdowns and overhauls schedules. Executes preventive maintenance programs while ensuring that all work is carried out in a timely manner as per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of control system activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Participates in the Hazardous and Operability (HAZOP) brain storming sessions with regards to control systems and is the final decision maker regarding the suitability of the control schematics.
• Participates in the Pre-Start up Safety Review (PSSR) from a control system point of view prior to project handover to production to ensure proper controls are set in place.
• Prepares and reviews reports on major outages, abnormalities and major equipment history. Create analysis and configuration of simple and complex DCS / PLC logic for problem solving for optimization purposes. Modification of associated DCS graphics, PLC HMI (Wonderware) and PI-OSISoft System graphics for Operation optimization purposes.
• Keep abreast of new trends and developments in the unit control systems. Apply and implement technical modifications in the existing design to enhance operation parameters.
• Troubleshoot any failures/abnormalities in the controls and field instruments. Perform trip or failure analysis depending on the situation, then carryout necessary actions accordingly.
• Supporting to all projects pertaining to Control System expansion and modifications. Designing and executing any modification of Control system related area as per Plant Modification Requirement (PMR). Update database and drawing for the close out of related PMR. Participating in the HAZOP study of the plant for the proposed modification as per PMR.
• Interfaces with all vendors and contractors engineer in the Engineering Design, installation, testing and acceptance. Conduct the Design, FAT, SAT, and commissioning for all the new projects pertaining to Control System inside the Plant area and make sure all the new system are working and properly incorporated with the existing system. Review new control system installations and expansion project documentation, drawings, equipment specifications and testing procedures.
• Report and provide data of Root Cause Investigation to management for resolving issues on critical equipment failure for improvement plan and strategy.
