• Playing a key role as a freelance BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Assessor with responsibility for managing projects from the start till the final certification.

Key Achievements:
• Playing a pivotal role successfully reviewing, managing and coordinating 16 existing ongoing projects spanning a very short timeframe, including contacting each client individually, establishing priorities and ensuring targets met
• Fully accountable for managing a highly complex project, after the main contractor went into liquidation and following appointment of a new contractor at a very late stage, liaising extensively with the client and project team
• Personally achieving very positive feedback from the company director and from Willmott Dixon and LCC for a highly effective contribution to the Leicester Innovation Centre.

• Working alongside the PM, with specific responsibility for directing, organising and controlling project activities for the 2 Dream Tower mix-use projects (residential, retail and hotel): Dream Tower No2 project at of $7.2m, Dream Tower No5 project valued at $1.8m
• Liaising with different project teams, ensuring construction of the building meets contracted specifications
• Responsible for managing daily operations and activities for the project, including resolving problems and issues as they arise, ensuring quality and efficiency
• Completing quality inspections, carrying out on-site check and measurements, monitoring performance, coordinating the work of contractors, ensuring the project is running within the agreed time frame
• Chairing site meetings and effectively communicating relevant project information to the PM, client and project team.

Key Achievements:
• Introducing effective monitoring methods which contributed directly to a 2% increase in sales
• Playing a pivotal role in assisting the client to apply the planning process to their project in a scientific and systematic way.

• Conducting research and feasibility study during an 8 month fieldwork project in Sudan, with emphasis on tropical climates, visiting sites with current construction sustainability technologies, meeting with contractors and suppliers
• Identifying and examining new technologies, testing a variety of options, combining different building elements and selecting the lowest cost construction option, creating a sample house plan and, finally, a full costing model

Key Achievements:
• Personally responsible for influencing the developers’ decision not to proceed following comprehensive research proving non-viability as house costs were reduced by only 10%, instead of the 20% required to attract buyers.

• Joined their healthcare specialized team working in Bulwell Joint Service Centre project (£16million) for the Local Improvement Finance Trust Company (LIFT Co) presenting Primary care trust (PCT) and Nottingham county council (NCC).
• Working with the project associate director on C-D stage producing solutions for different aspects accommodating and satisfying all involved end users and the public.
• Attending design progress meetings, liaising with the project end users, prepare building layout options, space planning, involved in the preparation of the planning application documents.

• Joined their architectural team that primarily specializes in the education sector.
• Responsible for the ‘Long Eaton Children Centre and mainly working as a contract administrator under a JCT98 contract. The work involved the building of a new office extension, internal alterations and refurbishment work to the existing family support building including design exterior landscaping.
• The project was at the tender stage and I’ve managed to amend all architectural set of drawings and update specification to match requirements. Besides preparing agendas and chairing site progress meetings.
• Liaised with the client Derby County Council (DCC) and statutory bodies to ensure compliance. I also worked with the quantity surveyors to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
• Liaised with the project team including the client, contractor, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver the job and issued instructions accordingly to the contractor/estimator/Clerk of work.
• Involved in Nottingham City Council academies project (Samworth University Academy) working in both external and internal layouts to meet the critical area brief requirements.
• Assisted the senior architect on the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project for DCC.

• I started working as an Architectural Technician/Assistant and in 2005 I received my exemption of RIBA Part 1&2 and more recently my Part3 qualification. Hence I was promoted to an Architectural Graduate/Architect respectively.
• I’ve been involved heavily in all stages of projects’ progress from feasibility studies to completion. Most projects were run under the JCT or FIDIC contract.
• My responsibilities included supervising junior members of staff, visiting sites for following up & surveying, liaising with clients, contractors and subcontractors, attending design review meetings, carrying out final inspections and preparing snagging lists.

• Got involved in the design of News International Limited (NIL) Press building (HALL) in London area of a value of £300 million. In particular I was responsible for the whole package of Ancillary buildings including Gatehouse, Drivers block and pump house; Produced design, planning and construction drawings, coordinated work with the project team, attended meetings, contributed to RFI (Request For Information) report, supervised site-work while inspecting it to ensure compliance with specification and drawings.

Key Achievements;
• Got promoted from a CAD technician to Senior Architect in 5 years.

• Working as a CAD Technician designing infrastructure networks for the different telecommunication operators.
• My work involved interpreting survey drawings and producing design drawings for roof tops and green field sites. I was also responsible for generating detailed structural and electrical drawings for construction work.

• Joined the planning team working in a GIS project for Sudan Telecommunication Company, aiming to select the most cost-effective route for telephone lines and Data Cables.

• Participated in the exterior and interior design of several construction projects such as luxurious villas and office blocks. I was also responsible for preparing structural working drawings, tender documents and site-work supervision.

• Supervision of construction and site-work managing construction labour and budgeting duties, preparation of bills of quantities, specifications and tender documents.

• Involved in the preparations for design and construction drawings for number of numerous strategic projects, where I gained a very good experience in AutoCAD.
