Possess sound knowledge as First Assistance in Cardiac Surgeries, Sternotomy, Sternal closure, Reexplorations and Expertise in Vein harvesting and Suture closure of skin.
● Know to insert CVP Line, Peripheral and Arterial Line, read ABG and treat accordingly.
● Know to remove Pericardial, Mediastinal and Pleural drains.
● Know to maintain CT-ICU individually and Able to provide Pre-OP Care & Post-OP Care.
● Able to Induce Pre Operatively in Anesthetic care.
● Pivotal in conducting Preoperative evaluation, Operative record preparations and Postoperative follow up clinics.
● Strong ability to perform Stress Testing, Holter, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, Echocardiogram, Head up Tilt Table Testing, Biothesimetry and Vascular Doppler for diabetic patients.
● Able to perform Clinical Research related to specific operations.
● Rapidly assess and respond to medical emergencies.

They also perform routine pre-operative tests. • During the surgery, physician assistants assist the surgeon in a number of ways. They may perform certain procedures, such as placing IV lines or drawing blood. • Post-surgery, physician assistants in cardiothoracic surgery care for patients by monitoring their recovery, ordering and reviewing lab tests, and addressing any problems or issues with the surgeon.
