In brief about my role:
1. As a Design Coordinator:

a. Studying the Design Drawings
b. Read and understand the Project Specifications Structural, Architectural and MEP.
c. If any relevant Design information missing either of the discipline, I discuss with consultants like Hyder, HOK, Atkins, ROP, JERDE, AECOM, Atkins, Engg Adnan Saffirini and Studio Altieri for the same and made some conclusion for the Design.
d. I raise the RFI (Request for Information), FCR (Field Change Request) based on the Design irrelevant / missing information (or) raise proposal for the new or changes required on Design.
e. Material Submittal also done based on the Project Specification and Design Drawing requirements.
f. Schedule - Making a schedule of items, which are most referred in projects (like Core Schedule, Door Schedule, Lift Schedule, Escalator Schedule, Window Schedule, Louver Schedule etc., ).
g. Priority - Assigning priority of the job to sub-ordinates and sub-contractors.
h. Supporting - Supporting with the QS team for claiming - due to the variations, delays due to Design input or any work delay due to the material approval / unavailability.
i. Site Coordination - Coordinate with site Engineers, Surveyors etc., to build in the site, if any alternations required due to practical difficulties discuss with consultant and clients to propose solution to achieve the job done.
j. Coordination - Assisting to prepare the shop drawings through the Draft persons and following up the same. The same information I will passed to sub-contractors and site team to do the job.
k. Submissions - Chase all sub-contractors to submit their shop drawings, material submissions and RFI as per the planning schedule.
l. Drawing and Approval - Chase with Consultant to get shop drawings approval based on the priority of work carrying on site.
m. Reviewing of shop drawings, sub-contractors shop drawings, detail drawings and their RFI as per the all Design Documents (Client drawings, RFI, SI and Proposals) and the drawings will comment based on Design need and RFI’s will response based on Design inputs and Project Specifications.

2. As a CAD Manager:

a. Prepare and maintain the weekly planning of work schedule for the Draughtsman.
b. Following up the work schedule, if not achieved the check the reason and report to the concern Draught person, Design Coordinators and Design Managers.
c. Maintaining the softcopy register - allocating the drawings and sketch numbers and title and checking the drawings in all aspects in softcopy and hardcopy both (like it is as per scale, drawing titles, distributed to concern sub-contractors, Revision numbers, Drawn by, Date, Reviewed by, Approved by) then I forward the same drawings to concern consultant / clients.
d. Maintain the daily log for the Draughtsman (like Attendance and work done).
e. Maintain the inventory of the systems (like What kind of system using, capacity of RAM, Capacity of HDD, Software and Hardware installed etc., ).
f. Check the softcopies of consultants, sub-contractors and own shop drawings, (Whether the standard prescribed by the clients are followed or not, x-ref are binded, drawings are purged and audited).
g. Clarifying the CAD Draughts person doubts.
h. Developing CAD Standards and Prototype files.
i. Preparing CADD Manual as per client Requirements.
j. Leave Schedule - Which will helpful for planning the output of drawings.
k. Maintain a log for the incoming and outgoing drawings (distribution of drawings to clients, consultants and sub-contractors and site).
l. Controlling of softcopies either through CD’s or other source (All the incoming and outgoing CD’s for the clients, consultants and sub-contractors) softcopies is checked properly.
m. Maintain the client, consultant, sub-contractor drawing register.
n. Maintain the key plan for the all the levels, core key plan, stair core key plan, escalator key plan, lifts key plan in the project and register for the same.
