• Responsible for IP backbone& Metro Network, Data Center Network (Core, Aggregation, and Access), IT Campus, O&M, and enterprise Network. IP Network Configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration. Day by day follow up of IP network related issues
• Responsible for restoring critical service outages, coordination of field teams, vendor technical support teams, service providers, communication with management, and incident report generation
• Evaluation of network integration designs and proposals provided by vendors and planning department to ensure technical and operational feasibility, by conducting lab tests were necessary
• Responsible for continuous network strengthening by identifying points of weakness in the network and escalating these issues to planning teams with recommendations. Enabling the Engineers to perform the same
• Ensure network issues' root causes are identified and preventative measures are established to avoid repeat cases, develop team capabilities in troubleshooting to ensure an efficient and effective response to service affecting faults
• IP network configuration management, performance management, fault management, troubleshooting, integration, and spare part management
• Daily follow-up IP network-related issues. Technical support and follow up of IP backbone, Internet backbone, Data Center network, enterprise, and OM network related issues
• Checking IP network link status & utilization, escalate to relevant sections for expansion if required.
• Tracking progress of key activities and providing feedback to team and management
• Projects follow up with vendors and service providers to accomplish it within timeline and provide resource alignment from Asiacell to complete project/task
• Open and follow up trouble tickets and follow up with vendors till issue resolution
• Control the implementation & delivery of WAN/LAN environment/infrastructure
• Work as part of a team that has responsibility for providing technical support, implementation, configuration and operation of the latest Cisco products in a network environment
• Contribute to the design and developments of the Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) that service the business needs of the Asiacell
• Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive documentation of all the corporate infrastructure; including detailed information on the network appliance configuration; LAN and WAN architecture and interconnectivities
• Assist with deliverables, installations and relocations of sites, and technical management of project matters, resources & support issues
• Ensure WAN/LAN configuration data & provide high level technical consulting to other IT groups & business users as required
• Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans that will protect and preserve corporate LAN and WAN and its security requirements; in the event of unforeseen failures.
• Maintain network security and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and operating procedures
• Contribute to the analysis of Business Projects Requirements and design the most appropriate Hardware, Network, Security, and Operating System, and evaluating its integration with the current environment
• Draft clear project implementation plans
• Generate functional specifications for infrastructure requirements & acceptance testing
• Design and implement systems and procedures for network redundancies for the LANs and WANs to ensure effective and immediate back-up facilities in the event of link failures
• Review system performance continuously in order to identify opportunities for systems enhancements and upgrades that stretch and exploit the full potential of the Company’s existing technological capability
• Monitor the continuing performance of the hardware modules to ensure optimum operating status and to troubleshoot problems
• Design and implement Internet connectivity solutions that ensure external interfaces provide integrity and security against unauthorized entry to internal systems
• Supervise the New Asiacell HQ Building Erbil regarding IT Network and System Infrastructure environment plan, implement and installation Plus the Security and all of IT Related Issues in all of the Building Floors and the Data Centers
