Worked as Assistant Finance Manager for Unilever’s Distribution company in Abu Dhabi region “Thani Murshid Unilever LLC”, where I am leading the finance team.
My duties and responsibilities were:

• Responsible for complete financial management and planning for the entity, working closely with the Country Director, Finance Director and management teams to ensure that the company’s growth potential is maximized and targets are achieved.

•Responsible, in coordination with the Country Director, to deliver corporate as well as local results for the entities. Further responsible for regular communication with the local partner of the company, ensuring that the local partners are aligned on key developments within the entities.

•Responsible for management and control of the expenses (trade marketing investments, indirects and fixed distribution costs). Working closely with the Country Director and management teams to ensure that spends are incurred effectively and efficiently. Led various cost efficiency programs within the entities.

•Responsible for the training & development of Finance team.

•Responsible for the implementation of Unilever finance policies and procedures within the entities, as well as implementation of strong internal controls in the market

•Led major process simplification / improvement
Analyze profit margins on monthly basis. control overhead expenses, improve profitability, prepare financial statement, handle internal and external audit, prepare budgets, business partnering with category and channel teams etc

FINANCE MANAGER Accounting Shared Service (September 2008 to Present 4 years)(Leading a team of 8 members of onshore team and 40 members of offshore team (CapGemini)
Quarterly reporting of Group Financials of 9 legal entities
Custodian of general ledger for 3 legal entities
Co-Ordination with CapGemini
to ensure compliance of service level agreement
to ensure booking of all invoices, payments, receipts, journal vouchers, bank reconciliations, preparing balance sheet schedules etc.

As Management Accountant in the Group Management & Financial Accounts Department and reporting to the Group Financial Controller, my key current responsibilities were:

Assist the Group Management Accountant in preparing Annual Business Plan, long term Strategic Plans and Monthly Forecasts.
Compile and report operating results of the company to the Regional Management in London/South Africa. The job entails consolidation and analysis of the results of all the Group companies. This encompasses computation of variances versus Annual Plan & Prior Year, Cash Flows, movement in Market Shares, Gross Capital Employed, Supply chain assets, underlying Volume Growth, Working Capital, etc.
Allocation of Overheads and Entity wise/Cost Centre wise Overheads report.
Supervise and guide the team members in preparing all management reports.

I have also been entrusted with the following responsibilities in my earlier years in this role:

oWorking Capital

Consolidation of Working Capital of the group companies and analysing movements by components. Computing weeks cover for stocks, debtors and creditors.
Tracking trends in Working Capital as this is a key corporate initiative.

oConsolidation & Reporting of Joint Venture Accounts
