Advise a richly diverse caseload of new and continuing undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students through to graduation.
• Understand and advocate on behalf of the needs of all student populations including first-year, transfer, international, and online students.
• Develop and facilitate in-person academic advising presentations for groups of first-time, first-year students during New Student Orientation.
• Implement retention and early intervention initiatives for students on academic probation.
• Develop and conduct proactive outreach campaigns to advising caseload and specific student populations using advising tools and systems.
• Monitor students’ degree progress and support students’ development of academic plans using advising tools and systems.
• Support returning and readmitted students, including students returning from academic suspension.
• Complete initial and final graduation checks for fall, spring, and summer graduates.
• Oversee the operation of the student success center and the peer to peer program
• Manage the implementation of the course evaluation survey
• Prepare mid-term analysis report to analyze student performance and take appropriate measures to improve student performance and GPA before the final examination
• Monitor student attendance
• Process grade appeals in collaboration with the academic head and the registrar
• Conduct initial meetings with students accused of misconduct and plagiarism
• Assist students with the preparation of their study plans and ensure compliance to pre-requisite requirements
• Conduct degree audit and ensure graduating students have completed study plan requirements
Manage orientation and induction events for newly admitted
students
• Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the Registrar’s
office
• Provide leadership and manage the academic advising unit
• Provides accountability for implementing and monitoring the
policies related to student enrollment, graduation, advising etc.
• Maintain, generate and analyze data and reports to support the
quality assurance department
• Contribute in preparing the student catalogue, policies and
procedures manual
• Complete and monitor degree audits and supervise the
coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation
applications while overseeing the complete graduation process
• Resolve student disputes as they relate to the office of the
registrar
