China Railway 18th Bureau Group WLL (CR18G) is one of the leading constructions contracting company in Qatar. CR18G was undertaken works on Gewan isaland’s building & Landscape Package 3 consist common basement structure to all 15 buildings which will deliver 586 luxury apartment units including all MEP services and finishes, 11000 sqm of retail area, 71000 sqm common basement parking and 20 Standalone luxury villas, clubhouse, mosque, crystal walkway and public realm.

The duties performed by myself as a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the Gewan Island project Quantity Surveyor Team and reported to the Deputy Cost Control Manager and Project Director.

Issue invitation to tender, tender documents, tender bulletins, tender clarifications, Letter of Interest (LOI), Letter of Acceptance (LOA), supplementary agreements, etc.

Review/Prepare, negotiate and finalize contract documents, Review the cost breakdowns, Review, negotiate and determine the variations and claims.

Authorize the payment certificates - Advance payment, interim payment, final account.

Monitor the value engineering proposals, Draft contractual correspondences, Chair contractual meetings, Liaise with the employer, subcontractors, sub-consultants, etc.

Identify the changes in the scope of works, notify the concerned parties, Plan and monitor the cost control mechanism.

Provide input in preparing the risk register and mitigation plans, Project reporting - Cash flow forecasts, weekly and monthly progress reports.

Supervision of Quantity Surveyor team and allocations of project tasks.

Periodically report to senior management on financial & contractual issues and attend meetings on financial status in the form of contract reviews assessed through project progress, labour analysis, material procurement, and subcontractor account review.

Quantex Qatar is one of the leading consultant company in Qatar. The duties performed by myself are overseeing procurement process and managing request for proposals (RFP); preparing detailed cost estimate; finalising commercial evaluations; drafting the work order (WO); drafting the engineer's instructions (EI); preparing interim payment certificates; preparing monthly cost reports; examining contractors' notices and variations; reviewing contractors' cost submissions, and finalising variation cost & preparing variation orders (VO), claim evaluation and final account.

The duties performed by myself are taking off quantities and preparation of BOQ for Structural, Architectural, External work and MEP services using CATO suite software for various construction projects. At the same time involved in feasibility studies, initial budget estimates through high level measurement and benchmarking, cost planning and value engineering works. In addition, I have involved in prepare PTE, prepare tender documents, send expression of interest to contractors, prequalification of contractors, tender issue, tender evaluation, conduct post tender meetings, and issuing contract document.

Preparation of interim payment application, Managing variations & provisional sums, Providing financial & contractual input for claims, Providing contractual/financial input for drafting project correspondence, Measuring & agreeing on final measurements, Building up & agreeing on new rates, Certifying sub-contractor payments and finalizing their accounts, Attending commercial meetings.

Preparing preliminary estimates and cost plans, Take off and preparation Bill of Quantities, Preparing pre tender estimates, Preparing tender documents and tender evaluation, Evaluation of interim payment applications and preparation of payment certificates, Evaluation of variation, accompanied with the senior QS for commercial meetings with clients and contractors.

Taking off joint measurements, Preparation of monthly valuations, Preparation of bar bending schedule, Preparation Sub-Contractor’s monthly bills, Rate analysis for the items, Preparation of material schedule & material reconciliation report.
