JOB DESCRIPTION
The System Administrator is a hands on position that utilizes advanced knowledge of information assurance principles and regulatory guidance to develop, accredit, and maintain specialized information systems that are integral to both our business capabilities and security program success. Battelle serves clients across all domains and the administrator must have functional knowledge of the NISPOM, JSIG, and ICDs.
The System Administrator is primarily accountable for the IS (Information Systems) Security program at this facility, but may provide IS expertise and support to our Arlington, VA offices as needed. Additionally, the system administrator may perform project work on various task orders on the contract.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serves as subject matter expert, troubleshooter, and help desk for system security matters
Procures, builds and configures systems to be compliant with regulations
Install and configure Windows on OS security baseline
Develops and maintains system security plans
Conducts regular audits of systems; reviews event logs to detect security issues
Applies patches management to systems
Supports the maintenance of software applications, hardware, and specialized tools
Conducts investigations and develops investigative reports
Provides training to system users on IS Security policy
Researches new technology and stays current with regulatory updates and releases
Acts in concert with and on behalf of the Facility Security Officer as require
