Roles and Responsibility :

-Maintaining care for all patients during their shift
-Recognizing the change in a patient's health conditions and responding appropriately
-Recording and monitoring a patient's vital signs
-Promoting well-being by educating patients on self-care techniques
-Consulting with doctors and other medical staff to determine the optimal treatment plan
-Administering over-the-counter and non-intravenous medications
-Changing dressings of the wounds
-Nurturing a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to the patient and their family members
-Operating medical equipment with accuracy

Job Responsibilities:
* Be Professional , taken care of very LBW Babies, Sick Newborns.
*Arranging and supervising the work of the Junior staffs in the ICU Unit.
* Assisting doctors in performing various medical and surgical procedures and taking care of the patients Taking care of preterm babies with low birth weight, birth asphyxia, meconium aspiration, Meningomyelocele, TOF, LSCS, Bronchopneumonia, Meningitis and IUGR.
*Maintenance of equipment's and instruments, maintain quite, neat and well equipped unit. *Procedures Assisted : Intubations CVP line insertion, lumbar puncture, peritoneal dialysis, exchange transfusion & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
* Admission procedure, Patient care-plans, Patient Education, pre and postoperative care, taking charge.
* Isolation precautions, wound and skin care, use of restraints, discharge procedures.
* IV Cannulation of IV infusions, setting up and care of CVP lines, Infusion pumps, blood product administration, care of central lines.* Assist the procedure of pericardial tapping, plural tapping. *Bed side nursing like sponge bath, mouth & back care, catheter care, giving steam inhalation, spirometer, chest physiotherapy.* Collection of blood for ABG and interpretation. Care of patient with mechanical ventilator, infusion pump & cardiac monitor.
* Performing various as nasogastric tube insertion, Iv cannulation & urinary catheterization etc. *Providing health care education to patient &their relatives.
* Participating in CODE BLUE team and continue quality improvement program.
* Collecting and sending different type of samples. Assisting to surgeon for skin biopsy, abdominal tapping & plural tapping.

# Taken part in infection control workshop held in Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, KLE Hospital Belgum. # Participated in 12th national Conference of Neonatology chapter of IAP held at Bangalore on 27th September 2019.
# Won 2nd prize in the research presentation program conducted at St. Johns Medical College hospital on 22nd March 2019.
# Completed online neonatal training and Orientation program from 15th April 2019 to 30th July 2019.
#Completed online preterm modules from AIMS Hospital New-Delhi.
