Manager Academics and HR at Punjab Daanish Schools & Centres of Excellence Authority
  • Pakistan - Lahore
  • October 2015 to December 2020

As a Manager Academics and HR, the task was to look after 14x (2 each girls and boys schools in each district) Punjab Daanish Schools under the auspices of the PDS&CE Authority, and 10 Centers of Excellence, existing Government Schools, given to the PDS to run on the same criteria as the PDS. The role of the academics wing is to recruit new teachers according to set selection criteria, monitor progress, issue policies to assist in streamlining academics, monitoring and evaluation process, monitor the curriculum, deliverance, monitor and evaluate the results and the teaching of the schools and be in close contact with the school Principals.

Apart from this the induction procedure of this excellent project is closely monitored. The examination papers for new induction and regular exams are synchronized and centralized from the head Office. This new venture started in 2010. It is an opening for the marginalized children to have an equal opportunity for education in this day and age. The Authority provides through government funds free tuition fee, free board and lodging, free books and clothing. Thus, offering these students with an equal opportunity to excel in life without the pressures from their improvised backgrounds.

Major Achievements:

Close monitoring and evaluation of the schools yielded excellent results for Grade 8 in the PEC provincial examinations. In 2017 as well the results were 100% pass in Daanish Schools with positions in the Province. Likewise implementation of remedial strategies and policies has dramatically improved the results of Matriculation in both PDS and COEs. A student from DG Khan stood first in the DG Khan Board in 2016. in 2017 the Matriculation has a boy fro Chistian who stood 2nd and one who shared a position as 3rd in the Province. Minimizing the lower grades and increasing the As or Bs is an uphill task as the dynamics of both schools differ. Streamlining all exams being held through a centralized system was achieved for the first time. New entrants’ tests were devised and issued from the Authority. New policies were issued to streamline education and monitor the schools like Remedial Strategies for Weak Students, Examination Policy, Fare Policy, Staff Quota Policy, Boarding House Policy, Teachers Selection Policy, Donations/Child Adoption Policy, Higher Studies Policy, Principal Transfer Policy, Teacher’s Training and Induction Policy. These are only some of the achievements made while monitoring and evaluation of these policies, curriculum completion and hiring of teachers are ongoing tasks that are challenging and inspiring. A successful Teacher’s Training was held in Mianwali for over 120 teachers newly inducted. Induction of new teachers and staff professional training.
Likewise in 2017 a Teacher's Training was conducted on 175 Teachers across the Daanish and COE Schools in Chistian lasting 3 days of intense training.
Realizing the importance of Co and extra curricular, students take active part in the sports and co curricular events bring laurels to their schools. Apart from this the students took part in the INTEL Science Fair and two projects were awarded participation in Los Angelos USA. The essence of providing opportunity to the marginalized segment of the society and to let them compete is more visible when these students represent Pakistan.
