• Setting up machines (gathering and setting up tooling and producing a good first piece)
• Instructing operators as to loading / unloading, deburring, inspection, and other processing of the work piece
• Using FeatureCam software to download programs to the machine
• Entering commands to retrieve, input and edit computerized machine control parameters as required
• Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control parameters as required
• Developing first- piece inspection plans for items which do not have an existing plan
• Understanding and interpreting blueprints, drawings or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece
• Verifying alignment of workpiece on machine, using measuring instruments, such as rules, gauges, micrometers and calipers
• Using geometry and trigonometry and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as coolant flow and depth of cut
• Machining and mounting fixturing for all production runs and set machine positioning for part production
• Assembling and presetting tooling for next operation during automated cycle to reduce machine downtime
• Maintaining, cleaning and lubricating machines as required
