Monitor and maintain normal operating parameters of the plant as per the established standards and adjust parameters in order to optimize production & minimize flaring.
Record daily consumption, production, and inventories of product and raw material streams.
Report any unsafe, unusual and abnormal conditions in the plant to Shift Supervisor for action.
Take safe shutdown or start up under shift supervisor’s guidance and instruction.
Closely coordinate with field operators in executing start-up, shutdown and maintenance activities.
Control the plant in any upset, emergency and handle plant emergencies safely as per the procedure.
Check laboratory results, file it & take corrective actions under shift supervisor’s guidance.
Respond and troubleshoot process alarms, upsets and coordinate with SS, field operator to normalize it.
Motivate and train new staff in order to maximize subordinate and the performance of the plant.
Communicate the requirement of operational procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within the plants to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Effectively execute all pre-commissioning activities including chemical cleaning of pipeline, equipment and boilers, pigging scrapping of pipelines, pneumatic test, leak test, hydro-testing, oil flushing, air-blowing, sand blasting, nitrogen purging, piping & pipeline scrapping, steam blowing, catalyst handling, internal loading etc.
Develop tie- in interfaces, reports, commissioning procedures, HSE Procedures, method statement, inspection reports, OTP, field reinstatement and HAZOP.
Organize test runs for analysis of unit performance, establishing optimum operating parameters and for identifying process bottlenecks for increasing the plant throughput.
Review modifications/new designs to existing plant to make sure system is designed properly and that all safety requirements are considered to ensure system integrity.
Review & provide comments and feedback on drawings and P&ID's.
Responsible for control room operation as Panel Engineer, with extensive hands on experience in DCS Yokogawa CS3000.
Assist in carrying out basic design studies for plant modification, pollution control and various and various capital projects including assessment of the technical and economic feasibilities of such projects to improve productivity, energy conservation and plants down time etc.
Assist and carry out investigation study and trouble shooting plant technical problems.
Provide guidance and support to the operations staff in solving problems and optimizing/monitoring conditions through data acquisition, analysis & applications to assure reliability and to achieve high efficiency.
Develop operating procedures for existing plants and new modifications to ensure safe start up and integrate with those of other affected sections.
Participate in resolving non compliance to all relevant process safety elements and integrity compliance KPI, and report any deviation from the environment requirements.
Develop integrity operating window for critical equipments and systems in coordination with other departments to ensure the plant is operating at optimum efficiency and safety.
Participate and provide high quality input in various studies like HAZOP, SIL, Risk assessment and RCA etc.
Prepare reports for all abnormalities and alarm management system.
Produce specialized reports as required, such as recommendations for improvements pertaining to safety, energy saving, cost saving and operation convenience.
Review the operating data as per the planned production targets, past and present prevailing conditions including laboratory analysis, operating plant performance, highlight any major deviations from the operating envelopes (parameters), and ensure suitable actions are taken toward their mitigation.
