Being a key member of the Technical Support Section, provided technical support to Engineering
Department in the design and construction of various roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects with
an emphasis on the design of highways, rural/urban roadways, and grading & drainage.
 Technical Review of design packages (15%, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFB and IFC), technical specifications,
design analysis reports, construction estimates, design calculations for compliance with approved
design criteria and civil engineering practice with emphasis on roads and storm drainage projects.
 Prepared and reviewed conceptual engineering design & layouts, master planning of roads and
transportation and coordinated with other disciplines and external departments (Ministry of Transport
(MOT), Marafiq, Saudi Aramco etc.)
 Reviewed and prepared site grading, setting up horizontal and vertical geometry of roads, corridor
modeling, generating profiles and cross sections, and calculation of earth work volumes.
 Managed and led in-house design packages including drawing preparations and technical
specifications for bid packages related to the development of various highways, major arterial &
collector roads and access roads in community and industrial areas.
 Provided support for the construction department in answering and resolving technical design issues
with alternative solution, clarification, and interpretation of the design drawings, resolve conflict with
utilities and other infrastructure and coordination with other sections and external departments.
 Reviewed and approved vendor drawings and shop drawings and provided response and technical
solutions to RFI’s raised by contractors. Performed field inspection and provided field support, as
necessary during construction phases.
 Attended value engineering workshops during design phase of various projects.
 Led and guided junior engineers and designers in technical excellence and growth in the quality
improvement process.

Managed engineering consultants for various highway contracts including planning & design,
pavement design and preservations and geometric assessments.
 Performed technical review of road alignments, geometry, and suitability of proposed alternatives for
consistency with department standards and provide feedback.
 Reviewed design and tender packages, geometric assessment and pavement rehabilitation reports
prepared by consultants for various highway projects to ensure department guidelines and technical
standards are met.
 Reviewed project drawings & specifications, individual ownership plans (IOPs) and right of way plans
for proposed and future developments
 Prepared in-house safety/intersection assessment reports and traffic impact studies for industrial and
commercial developments.
 Developed project scope documents, terms of reference (TOR), review consultant proposals and
select consultants.
 Involved in prioritizing and ranking of projects for multi-year construction and pavement rehabilitation
program based on existing conditions, available budget, and safety concerns.
 Provided feedback to Technical Standards Branch on updating department design guidelines and
standards.
 Attended public consultation process (open houses); provide presentations and attend stakeholders’
consultation meetings.

 Led various highways and rural/urban roadways design projects and managed overall design from preliminary through detailed design including tender documents and construction drawings preparation. Provided necessary coordination for data acquisition, stakeholder consultation and 3rd party reviews.
 Reviewed geometric and pavement design including establishing design criteria, plan & profile, intersection upgrades, overlay design and surfacing strategies.
 Prepared/reviewed design reports, detail design packages, cost estimates, specifications, and tender documents.
 Coordinated with utilities companies and other project disciplines, agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and to ensure project requirements are met.

 Reviewed and verified interim and final payment applications submitted by contractors.
 Monitored actual progress and expenditures versus planned and performed trend analysis.
 Managed project scope changes, identified problem areas and advised on corrective and preventive
actions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
 Performed document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, including
tracking & creating RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals.
 Evaluated variations/claims related to scope, conditions of contract, drawings, technical submittals,
and advised on variation issues.

 Worked on construction of Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project (1450 MW) in Pakistan, consisted of a barrage, power house, forebay, spillway, 52km long lined power channel, bridges, super passage structures and service roads.
 Developed and updated construction schedules by communication with the relevant project team.
 Created schedule reports, monitored the schedule for all phases of the project, analyzed variances from the planned and its impact and recommended corrective actions.
 Monitored actual progress and expenditures versus planned and performed trend analysis.
 Conducted weekly and monthly site visits to verify actual progress on site for the main execution program.
 Advised on potential variations to the scope of work that could generate cost and time impacts.
 Attended progress review meetings, prepared monthly and weekly progress reports and presentations.
 Communicated and worked with other project team members to ensure effective and speedy transfer of information.

Design:
