To Provide leadership role and support in EHS matters
•To Devise, implement and monitor EHS polices & procedures based on the Company EHS Policy
•To Ensure that the client’s EHS requirements are complied
•To Ensure that EHS resources are provided to the project team
•-To carry out EHS audits for determining effectiveness of the EHS management system
•To determine the presence of hazards or unsafe work practices and that appropriate measures are initiated to eliminate the unsafe condition
•To Ensure safe work practices and procedures are adhered
•To Review safety issues and techniques, which may facilitate safety performance
•To Ensure that all employees are using the appropriate personal protective equipment for
•the task assigned
•To Ensure that adequate first aid, emergency kits and services are available
•To Conduct site safety inspections and audits to ensure safe work practices are adhered to and that the project EHS plan is complied
•To Initiate safety meetings with sub-contractors
•To Conduct the toolbox meeting program together with site supervisors / safety representatives
•To Conduct pre-start up safety planning meeting prior to the start of the work
•To Attend all scheduled and unscheduled safety meetings
•To Ensure that all accidents and incidents are properly reported, a thorough investigation has been completed, corrective action has been taken and the incident properly documented
•To Collate and report all accident and incident statistics on controlled released Performa
•To Ensure that all site employees are properly inducted and are aware of the project EHS plan and its requirements
•To Initiate a request for safety training as required Ensure the co-ordination of all high risk activities relevant to the project
•To Ensure that all employees correctly use, maintain / store the PPE's
•To Ensure that all safety-related forms, job task analysis, reports and documents are properly filled out and filed appropriately
•To Thoroughly investigate all accidents and incidents and ensure that corrective action is taken
•To Initiate reports of unsafe acts, work practices or conditions
•To Conduct tool box meetings and ensure that attendance records are filed
•To facilitate the rehabilitation of injured workers into the work site.
