Responsibilities as HSE Manager at KAFD
- Co-ordinate with the Client Representative and Consultants to improve HSE Requirements on Site.
- Co-ordinate with Project Managers and Construction Manager to implement Safety Plan on Site.
- Attend Weekly Meetings with the Clients and Consultants & Core Team.
- Co-ordinate with Sub-contractors to implement HSE Work Procedures on Site.
- Planning and Managing periodical inspections & maintenance schedule according to vendor’s specifications to all Safety & Fire Equipment.
- Accident, incident Investigation and Reporting.
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly inspection and Monitoring all activities and facilities.
- Defining to Company Management any need of special emergency, rescue, safety and fire protection / firefighting systems and necessary training.
- Support Company Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and programs, Provides technical and professional proposals and advice to protect company property and personnel.
- Fire prevention of all activities, testing of smoke and heat detectors, conducting drills. Check-up Breathing Apparatuses sets.
- Supervision of all construction works on site.
- Preparation and conducting training, meetings and “TOOL BOX” talks for all company and contractors staff.
- Inspection of safety precaution of signboard and safety tape to avoid accident. Always remember the company’s policy, which is to target zero accident.
- Monitor all workers’ to ensure compliance of proper personal protective equipment. To ensure all necessary safety precaution in job site.
- Inspect the heavy equipment’s, Cranes, Loader, Shovel, Forklift and Bobcat.
- Monitoring the First Aid Clinic and Ambulance.
- Maintain a checklist for entrance of personals, equipment and vehicles to the job site to make sure that all personals are evacuated in case of emergency evacuation.
- Membership in Investigation Committee & preparation of incident and conclusion reports.
- Daily monitoring the workers at the job site area to ensure the supervisors / foremen / charge hands that safety talk (T.B.T) conducted before they start the work at least 5 to 15 minutes.
- Daily monitoring for the workers at the job site area to ensure that they maintain their respective area tidy and clean (Housekeeping) for at least 10 to 20 minutes before knock-off time in every day.
- Daily checklist monitoring for the cranes as per company procedure to avoid accidents during operation and secure that the surroundings well cordoned and barricaded thereof.
- Check and inspect power, electrical, & mechanical tools etc. used by the workers at the job site to secure in good conditions to avoid any untoward accident happen while commencing their job.
- Check the permits and monitor and check that all excavations particularly more than 1.25 deep has been properly cordoned, barricaded or barriers installed for the protection of the personnel and vehicles.
- Daily monitor for the workers to ensure that they are comply the safety rules and regulation and make a violation report of the violator for dispensatory action as per company procedure and command of responsibility.
- Monitor the workers in cable pulling to ensure that they tie-off their lanyard to the life line when they are performing their job on high Elevation & Edges.
- Monitoring the electrical group while performing their job in remote instrument building and main control building.
- Monitoring the loop checking job of subcontractor.
- Attend the following refresher safety training arranged by client representative. (1. Safety Orientation and Induction, 2. Confined Space, 3. Working at Height, 4. Lock out / Tag out (LOTO), 5. Basic First Aid).
- Monitor all workers if they are wearing safety paraphernalia at job site, and put necessary safety precaution before starting any job.
- Make daily reports regarding safety in the job site and submitted it to the HSE Manager (Head office).
