Currently working as Finance Manager of the group. The group comprises of a number of commercial entities dealing with various consumer goods e.g. Canon cameras, Samsonite luggage, Nokia mobiles, Huawei mobiles, Citizen watches, Samsung watches, and other food items of various brands like Henkel, Hero, United Biscuits and EFES.
My key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing product pricing in coordination with respective Business Unit managers to maintain optimum gross margins at SKU level.
- Ensuring strict cost controls and managing profitability of the business at brand level.
- Management of the P&L and Balance Sheet of the business units to maintain sustainable growth.
- Monthly forecasting & reporting of business results as per management requirements and to ensure compliance with the Financial Reporting Standards.
- Presentation of the business performance to the CEO each month alongwith detailed analysis of the P&L.
- Managing monthly closing activities and co-ordination with all the business units for the purpose of consolidation and reporting.
- Credit control and close co-ordination with the sales team.
- Inventory control with regular review of aging and classes to ensure minimum business losses.
- Responsible for analysis and consolidation of all the businesses at the Group level
- Overseeing the treasury function including bank reconciliations and bank accounts management of the Group.
- Providing support to IT consultants in implementation of Oracle R12.
- Coordination with Internal Audit and Risk Management teams.
In this role, I was looking after accounting, finance and reporting of customer development finance. My responsibilities included:
Partnering with customer development and trade marketing teams on new initiatives and market development projects (e.g. rural operations, distribution channels etc).
Monthly forecasting & reporting of business results as per management/statutory reporting requirements and to ensure compliance with Internal Financial Reporting Standards
Development of financial models for budgeting, forecasting and results reporting.
Monitoring of return on trade/marketing investments and managing cost drifts
Pre/Post evaluation of consumer and trade activities for profitability and improvement
Evaluation of other corporate projects.
Handling tax issues and planning in accordance with Tax Laws.
Analysis and interpretation of financial data / business performance.
Managing customer credit process via third party
Handling ERP system issues
Ensure internal controls compliance
Coordination with external auditors
Received AWARD - "Hero for Bias for Action" as company's acknolwedgement and appreciation of my leadership qualitites.
I was responsible for planning, execution and co-ordination of internal audit and other business partnering assignments, information security compliance and supervision of back-office for retirement funds. I had also performed the role of Acting Secretary to the Audit Committee in August 2010.
My key responsibilities included:
• Supporting the Head of Internal Audit & Secretary Audit Committee in preparation and management of Audit Committee meetings.
• Planning & delivery of annual internal audit plan as approved by the Audit Committee. Audit areas include business functions like Supply Chain, Customer Development, Finance & Taxation, brands and trade promotions.
• Planning and supervision of various Business Partnering and Process Improvement Projects on the request of business partners.
• Execution of SOX compliance process (based on regional guidelines) to provide an assurance over material controls over financial reporting.
• Cascade and implementation of Information Security policies & procedures across the Company, including compliance with the best practices of access control and segregation of duties.
• Back office management of 8 retirement funds in areas of reporting and special projects.
• Liaison with actuary and tax experts relating to Retirement Funds matters.
• Involved in SAP implementation project in the Company as part of Roles & Authorizations Track.
